Dragons of Wonderhatch Premiere Date on Disney+

Disney unveiled a new sizzle reel at the Disney Content Showcase event in Singapore, revealing the release date of the upcoming Japanese original series. Dragons Of Wonderhatch will premiere on Disney+ on December 20, 2023.

Dragons of Wonderhatch Plot

The plot revolves around Nagi, a fantasy-loving high school student from Yokosuka, Japan, and Tyme, a “dropout” dragon rider from the anime world of Upananta. When floating islands begin to fall from the sky in Upananta, Tyme embarks on an adventure to solve the crisis by locating the missing hero, Akuta.

It turns out that the crisis in Upananta may have far-reaching consequences in the real world, and Akuta is currently on his own mission in the real world to find a solution that will save both realities.

Who is creating Dragons of Wonderhatch?

The project features a remarkable lineup of creators. Kentaro Hagiwara, recognized for his work on the live-action Tokyo Ghoul adaptation, is directing the scenes set in the real world. Overseeing the anime segments is Takashi Otsuka, acclaimed for the Precure franchise and One Piece Stampede. Furthermore, Posuka Demizu, the illustrator of The Promised Neverland manga, is handling the original character designs and concept art.

Although it’s a Disney project, the production is under the supervision of C & I Entertainment, recognized for the live-action adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin. Meanwhile, Production I.G. is responsible for producing the anime segment of this amazing project.

Kyota Fujimoto, Takamasa Oe, and Anna Kawahara are the series scriptwriters, with Teruhisa Yamamoto, Hitoshi Itou, and Hideyuki Wakuta as the producers.
