Ahsoka Season 2: Release Date, Plot, and Everything You Need To Know!

Ahsoka Season 2: The show has been officially confirmed by Star Wars, along with the movie titled The Mandalorian & Grogu. Here’s everything you need to know!

The Star Wars universe is expanding yet again. After making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano received her own spinoff series. She has been a fan favorite since her first appearance in the Star Wars franchise.

For those who don’t know, Ahsoka is created and written by Dave Filoni for Disney+ and follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. The live-action adventure took her to unexpected places, such as The World Between Worlds and an entirely new galaxy. And with all of that adventure, it appears that the story may not have been completed in just one season.

Star Wars has formally announced that Ahsoka season 2 is happening, capping many months of anticipation. But when is it going to premiere? What will it be about? Who is in the cast? Curious to find out? Continue reading!

When is Ahsoka Season 2 Release Date?

Big news for Ahsoka fans: Star Wars has officially stated that the next chapter of the story is currently being developed. This confirmation was first made in conjunction with the announcement of the movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Later, Star Wars revealed Filoni’s concept art for the second season of Ahsoka, highlighting the show’s current development state.

Although Ahsoka season 2 will premiere before Filoni’s conclusion film, no production dates have been specified yet, since this project is still in the early stages of development.

We expect the filming for Ahsoka season 2 to begin once The Mandalorian & Grogu has wrapped filming, as both projects utilize the Volume technology and are most likely to have the same set of creative directors and behind-the-scenes staff. The Mandalorian & Grogu will begin shooting in Los Angeles on June 17, 2024.

According to The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger (via Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter), The Mandalorian & Grogu will be the next Star Wars feature film to release in theaters. Furthermore, the Disney chief told investors that the movie is likely to be released in 2026 — about two years from now.

So, if we have to predict, Ahsoka season 2 will probably begin production in 2025 and release in 2027.

What will be the plot of Ahsoka Season 2?

Even though the official plot details have been kept under wraps, we know for a fact that the eight-episode first season of Ahsoka and her friends left them in a somewhat precarious position, indicating that there may be more stories to be told. As a result, the cliffhanger will undoubtedly be resolved in the second season before Ahsoka and Grand Admiral Thrawn’s ongoing narrative is most likely to resume.

Furthermore, Ahsoka left fans with more questions than it was prepared to address. At its worst, it felt like a teaser for the larger story to come: a feature film that will most likely bring characters from The Mandalorian and its spinoffs together in an Avengers-inspired crossover. But nothing has been set in stone, so stay tuned.
