Netflix crime drama series Delhi Crime starring Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang, showcased the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape. Directed by Richie Mehta, the show received a tremendous response from critics. They praised the script, premise, and performance of the lead cast members. The show won the best drama series award at the 48th International Emmy Awards in 2020. Soon after Netflix renewed the series for a second season which will soon be available on the streamer. Delhi Crime Season 2 Release date and time
In March 2021, Netflix India announced its slate of movies and shows set to release in 2021. Delhi Crime Season 2 was part of that slate. Netflix hasn’t revealed the exact release date for the second season yet.
On July 16, 2022, Netflix India’s Twitter account shared the first look of the second season. The tweet reads, “The squad is coming back to take on yet another gripping case. #DelhiCrimeSeason2, Coming Soon.”

All the lead members are returning for the second season to crack a new case this time. The second season will see DCP Vartika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah) heading another crucial investigation with her team which includes Neeti Singh (Rasika Duggal) and Bhupendra Singh aka Bhupi (Rajesh Tailang).
Actors Adil Hussain, Anurag Arora, Yashaswini Dayama, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Gopal Dutt, Denzil Smith, Tillotama Shome, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, and Ankit Sharma also stars.
Richie Mehta who directed the first season is the creator of the second season. Tanuj Chopra is the showrunner and director. Delhi Crime Season 2 Trailer
Netflix Indian launched the trailer on Aug 8, 2022, giving us hints on what to expect from the second season. The trailer showcases how a gang of murderers has created chaos in the city. Apart from criminal mathology and police investigation, the trailer hints at the social divide in society between the poor and the elite.
Delhi Crime Season 2 Plot
The first season of the series is set in the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape. It covered the period from the incident happening to the final arrest of the suspects.
At the International Emmy Awards 2022, Delhi Crime received the award for Outstanding Drama Series becoming the first-ever Indian series to win this award. So, the pressure is on Netflix to follow up with an equally good second part.
Like the first season, the upcoming season is also inspired by true events. It is about the Chaddi Baniyan gangs that were operative in different parts of India. They used to target the homes of vulnerable senior citizens. The group of killers used to attack while wearing only their underclothes. In addition to wearing undergarments, members wear face masks and cover themselves in oil to shield their identities.
