Coolie No 1 Release Date: Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No 1 is scheduled to release on 1st May. However, it is almost certain that it will get postponed due to Coronavirus Pandemic.
Coronavirus Pandemic is severely affecting the film industries across the world. Bollywood industry is at a halt and the celebrities are self-quarantine in their homes. Several films including Sooryavanshi, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar have been pushed indefinitely. It is being reported that Varun Dhawan’s most awaited release Coolie No 1 is also getting postponed.

The shooting of the film was wrapped up a month before. The film is scheduled for release on 1st May but it looks almost uncertain due to the shut down of businesses. Reports suggest that the shooting of a song is pending along with a lot of patchwork. It is almost impossible for the Coolie No 1 team to meet the deadline.
Director David Dhawan is unsure about the release on the scheduled date. He said, “Coolie No 1 ka trailer was supposed to come out on April 2 but right now, can’t tell, can’t tell anything.'” Varun said in a statement, “I guess we are also reviewing the situation like everyone else at the moment.”
In a live chat on Instagram, a fan had asked Varun about Coolie No 1’s release date. The actor informed that it had to be pushed due to the coronavirus scare, and that the trailer won’t be launching on the pre-determined date either.
Coolie No 1 is an important film for Varun as his last two films Kalank and Street Dancer 3D tanked at the box office. There is no chance that David and Varun would take a risk with this one. If the film gets postponed they would look for a good release date.
Coolie No 1 is a remake of 1995 blockbuster of the same name. It starred Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Kadar Khan and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. Govinda played the role of Raju, who lies about being a rich businessman in order to get married to Malti (Karisma). Made in a budget of just 3.5 crores, Coolie No 1 earned 23 crores worldwide.
