Bhuj digital rights: Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi starrer ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ has been for Rs 100+ crore to Disney+ Hotstar.

With multiplexes and single screens remained shut since the lockdown, the makers have are now opting for direct digital release. After Gulabo Sitabo’s release on Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the digital rights of seven Bollywood films. These films are releasing directly on the platform as a part of Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex initiative.

Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India is among the seven films releasing directly on Disney+ Hotstar. The film has fetched a big deal with the streaming giant. As per a report in Pinkvilla, the digital rights of Bhuj has been acquired by Disney+ Hotstar for whopping Rs 112 crore.

Pinkvilla states,Laxmmi Bomb was sold for a terrific Rs 125 crore. Now, Ajay along with producers Bhushan Kumar, Vajir Singh, and others cracked a solid deal with Hotstar for Bhuj. The film has been sold online for a whopping Rs 112 crore. That also makes it the second highest-earning film to release on OTT platforms this year so far.”

Well, this is definitely a winning deal for the filmmakers as the budget of the film is around Rs 80 crore. With Rs 112 crore already in the kitty, the makers will also make decent money music and satellite rights.

Bhuj: The Pride of India is a war-drama film directed, co-produced and written by Abhishek Dudhaiya. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it is based on the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport. The film chronicles the event when Karnik and his team reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 local women. The film features Ajay Devgn as Karnik, along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, and Pranitha Subhash.
