After many reports about a remake of Ittefaq, Sidharth Malhotra confirms Ittefaq remake with Sonakshi Sinha.
Few weeks ago, Shah Rukh Khan himself has confirmed that his production house Red Chillies Entertainment is going to produce Ittefaq Remake. Now, the leading man Sidharth Malhotra confirms Ittefaq remake with Sonakshi Sinha opposite him.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sidharth Malhotra confirmed the news by saying this-
“Yes, I and Sonakshi are doing the ‘Ittefaq’ remake. It’s directed by B.R Chopra’s grandson Abhay Chopra. Obviously we are adapting the twist. It’s a different film but the main premise is same. I think we are reviving a genre which is dead, which is a murder mystery. I have not seen a murder mystery made in Indian cinema in the longest time. It will be made next year. I am pretty excited about it.”
The remake will be helmed by B.R. Chopra’s grandson Abhay Chopra. The film will be jointly produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Abhay’s brother Kapil. Originally, Ittefaq was also a remake of a British film, ‘Signpost to Murder’ (1964), featuring Joanne Woodward. The film is expected go on the floors by the end of this year. Apparently, Abhay has changed the climax so that the mystery is still intact. He has even roped in Akshaye Khanna for an important role.
