Akshaye Khanna joins Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha for Ittefaq Remake

After the confirmation, Akshaye Khanna has joined the leads Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha for Ittefaq Remake.

Shah Rukh Khan had confirmed a few weeks ago that his production house Red Chillies Entertainment will be producing the remake of Rajesh Khanna and Nanda starrer 1969 murder thriller by B.R. Chopra titled as Ittefaq. After the finalization of Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha for Ittefaq Remake, apparently Akshaye Khanna has joined them now.

The remake will be helmed by B.R. Chopra’s grandson Abhay Chopra. The film will be jointly produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Abhay’s brother Kapil. Originally, Ittefaq was also a remake of a British film, ‘Signpost to Murder’ (1964), featuring Joanne Woodward. Abhay is very excited about the remake. He says “I am really excited to work on this project. The script is brilliant and it will be a new screen character for me.”

This will be the first time Sonakshi and Sidharth will be seen together on the big screen. The movie is currently in prep mode, the reading session with the actors will begin soon and the film is expected go on the floors by the end of this year. Apparently, Abhay has changed the climax so that the mystery is still intact. He has even roped in Akshaye Khanna for an important role. Akshaye will be making his comeback soon with Dishoom.
