Ever wanted to sort your previous years’ collection and hand-pick only the top music tracks? Let us help you with what we found as best songs of 2012 in Bollywood.
In 2012 we experienced some good music to groove. Be it romanticism in Vicky Donor, soul in Agneepath, passion in Jannat 2 or sweet blissful love in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. Not only good sweet music, some very non contemporary alternate rhythm albums like Gangs of Wasseypur also made noise last year.

We compiled a list of Bollywood songs that have not only hit us in 2012 but are still a part of our playlist. BlogtoBollywood presents a musical reverence in 2012’s tracks and albums. So lets begin our journey consisting of best Songs of 2012 in Bollywood.

While Chikni Chameli was making roars as an item song in Bollywood, we also found Paani Daa Rang striking our heart’s love notes.

Let me take you on a roller-coaster ride of 2012. To start with, Raabta from the movie Agent Vinod was a big hit and spinned on radio a lot. I remember Pyaar ki Pungi baja ke was on MTV every time i turned on television those days. It was just a beginning for the year. The first quarter was breezed amidst beautiful tracks from Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya especially mentioning Piya O Re Piya, Angneepath’s item number Chikni Chameli and the funky and hip-hop songs from Agent Vinod.

If till March it was a good beginning for 2012, the next quarter from april to june was not less, or lets say it was even better. Our Playlist was dominated by Ayushmann Khuranna’s début hit movie Vicky Donor’s soundtrack. I still have Pani Da Rang in my playlist. The song was exceptionally good. Not only Pani da rang, we had few magnificent sequels like Jannat 2 & Housefull 2 as well. They also served us with a few delightful songs. If jannat 2 gave us Tera Deedar Hua, Housefull 2’s Anaarkali Disco Chali is still a “disc-centric” item number. Ishaqzaade’s Pareshaan was quite opposite of “pareshaani” and was a pleasure at heart. Rowdy Rathore’s Chin Ta Ta Chita Chita, though rowdy in its inceptions but still was acknowledged well by “aam junta”.

The third quarter of 2012 had a higher bar to set. While Cocktail with its superb soundtrack comprised of quality music from all the genres making us not to skip a beat, be soulful, dance and shake or go wild, we also had Ek tha tiger, Raaz 3, Bol Bachchan, providing us with other options. Cocktail was best in terms of take-aways. We had Tum Hi Ho Bandhu, Main Sharabhi, Yaariyaanspinning all day long on our machines. Raaz 3’s Deewana kr raha hai did not went epidemic but was received very well by audiences. Ek the tiger gifted us with Mashallah and alike. So, it was all a “Cocktail Show” in third quarter but this album was worth each penny of its cost.

Fourth and the last quarter of October to December had a farewell mode. Courtesy Karan Johar’s Student of the Year. Radha on the Dance Floor not only introduced Alia bhatt but also showed a progressive face of Indian Music. The kids went crazy, in real. From my neighbor’s kids to young ones in parties, were all a bandwagon of KJo Student of the Year. The Disco Song, Vele, Ishq Wala Love all from the same album were super hit tracks .

It was like a perfect farewell to 2012 in terms of music. If Student of the year made lasting buzz, we also had heroine Kareena’s Halkat Jawaani bidding us adieu.

Let me know if I missed out some of the best tracks.
