The most awaited movies of 2017, Bahubali 2 is setting news records even before its release. After pre-selling the distribution rights (Hindi, TN and Kerala) for a record-breaking amount, the producers have now sold the satellite rights of the Hindi version for a  record-breaking amount.

As per the reports, Sony TV Network has acquired the satellite rights (Hindi) for a record-breaking amount of Rs. 51 crores.This is the highest amount paid by any television network for any regional film for the small screen airing. This deal has certainly broken many records including the satellite rights of the Bollywood movies.

The reason behind this big satellite deal can be judged from the fact that Bahubali 2 is a blockbuster even before release. Moreover, the TV premiere of the first instalment, Bahubali: The Beginning, received a huge response on Television. Bahubali: The Beginning too was aired on Sony TV Network and it recorded a BARC rating of 2.07 crore, which is the third highest of all time after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2.51 crore) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2.37 crore). 

The first look of the movie will be unveiled on 22 Oct 2016 while the teaser of the movie is expected to release during Makar Sankranti next year. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty, the movie is slated for release on 28 April 2017.
