Chakravyuh Movie Review: It has Prakash Jha’s essence

Prakash Jha knows how to convey social and political issues in a way that mainstream cinema lovers will like and Chakravyuh is not an exception. Like most of the Jha’s movie that revolves around some sociopolitical issues or are either true stories.

Chakravyuh is all about naxalites. Staying true and loyal to the difficult subject Jha is able to deliver a complete movie with a message loud and clear. Whats go in the favor of the movie is the story of the two friends set up in between the lives of naxalites plus the power performances by cast. Prakash Jha is known for extracting the best from his actors and this time he has done the same. Arjun Rampal and Esha Gupta are good but the real show stealers are the Abhay Deol, Manoj Bajpai and new comer Anjali Patil.

Chakravyuh takes you to a hard-hitting note from the very outset, its a compelling drama and has some very superb violent and streaky moments. Jha has done a great job by portraying such an intense and burning issue in a way close to our mainstream cinema.

It’s worth a watch if you are a clever Bollywood lover a like sociopolitical drama.

Its officially confirmed now Yash Chopra’s next starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma has finally got a name and is to be called ” Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. The first poster of the Movie is out and it seems that its one more love triangle from Yash uncle. The movie is set to release this diwali. Expectations are really high from Yash Chopra as he is coming back from his retirement and uniting with greats like A.R. Rehman and Gulzar. We just hope that we will get another blockbuster from these love kings.

Ek Tha Tiger Movie Review. Bullets in Spine ? That is what you get when stakes in expectations are high. Previous Releases on Eid Wanted, Dabangg and Bodygaurd are to be blamed if this happens to you.Yet another Bollywood movie that wants to create an Indian James Bond .Was Agent vinod not enuf to ruin our lives that Tiger and Zoya are here to recreate the same magic ?

The movie starts off with an unexpectedly boring first half where the intention was to show love blossoming between an ISI agent(Zoya) and RAW agent (Tiger). The style mantra couldnt compete with magical ‘sallu bhai’ andaz or wasnt even inthe reverse direction of making a realistic genuine impression.However Katrina looks good specially while saying ‘tangri Kebabs’ .

Cut out two or three shots first half caries nothing to be gained.It tried to make us move in veer-zara mode but shattered .
The Second half tried to get into another fav bollywood theme ‘suspense and thriller’ but it opened the cards of suspense in not more than 10-12 mins. Com’on Makers ? let us be confused by what might happen next.We want to feel something . Why does the story gets flat where it could have picked up for a better and much better built for climax.The driving zeal in this half of movie was to see how after runing away from ISI & Raw tiger and zoya would survive ? Maybe some good or extra ordinary fighting sequences would come in near end of movie , Alas ! another ‘but’ . There are some good fight sequences but we have seen better of that in Salman’s earlier ones. The one in which Salman jumps into hellicopter taking off grounds from a driving bike in an exceptional one.

Maybe after Wanted,Dabangg and Bodygaurd ,Ek tha tiger is over criticized by us by its really difficult to say that Ek tha tiger will connect to the audience audience by its machismo.
What’s good and What’s Bad

Performances:

Salman 3.5/5 (He has tried something new and it is to be appreciated).May be we are too used to Dabanng and Bodyguard type.

Katrina 3.5/5 (She looked as beautiful as ever, and the actress is surely gaining acting skills with time).

Story and Direction:2.5/5

Story is good and has substantial twist and turns of being a good thriller but is not backed by a good direction. It doesn’t seems to be a Kabir Khan movie, Aditya Chopra has played his role in direction.

Cinematography: 4/5

Ravi K Chandran has done a great job capturing the beautiful locations from Derbin, Istanbul and Cuba.It is one of the positives of the movie.

Action sequences: 3.5/5

Some action sequences are great, but you will miss madrasi style. katrina looks good attempting action sequences.

Music: 3/5

Music has already created a lot of Buzz, its goes well with ears but don’t have any chartbusters like salman’s earlier movies.

Final word:

Tiger will not be your next Chulbul pandey or Lovely Singh . If you like Salman as a desi guys this one can be missed. Katrina shows some potential as an actresses and a performer. As already said ,Won’t fit in your boots of high expectation ,so if you are planning for this one Go clean slate 🙂

24 hours to go. Are you really waiting for “Ek Tha Tiger“. Its getting an overwhelming response, the movie has already collected around 25 crores from pre-release advance booking. More than 60% of the first two days shows are already booked and it is surely gonna be a biggest opening at the Box office. This type of response was last seen for “Dhoom 2” but the Tiger seems to be bigger and better. Expecting first day collections would be around 30 crores. Kya Super Cool Hai Hum: double meaning at its best. Well…Well.. Well.. It all starts with Kya Cool Hai Hum, a movie which was far ahead in terms of idea and content at that time, but still ends up with a surprise hit. Youngsters have enjoyed the double meaning sex comedy, but the critics and reviewers have threshed it. Some of the reviewers didn’t even reviewed it, saying such shamelessness can’t be reviewed and such movies didn’t deserves any reviews. Now with its sequel Kya Super Cool Hai Hum, the shamelessness continues and this time as it seems, it will cross all the limits in terms of double meaning adult comedy. The content is badly hilarious and the one liners are the talk of the town. There is a lot of craze among the youngsters and the movie is expected to have a good start. Movie is made with small budget of Rs 17 crore and as per the craze is, it will recover its investment in 2 to 3 days. So, it seems like a golden time for Tusshar and Riteish is not too far.

Cocktail Movie Review : One of the few love stories where u never feel connected to, despite having a great story and fabulous music.

Cocktail is good at content and high on emotions, but you always feel lack of something which hinders you from getting connected to it. There are plenty of sparkling moments, but the movie never have the feel you like to have in love stories. Music is awesome and most of the songs are in good synchronization with movie, with no background music at most of the places you feel lost or something.

Diana starts off well in Bollywood. Deepika is best of all,she deserves appreciation for her selection of role. Saif is just ok.

Blog to Bollywood goes with 2.5 stars for Cocktail.

Prediction: First day collections are good, since there was a great hype around it. But collections surely gonna dip low in the coming days.Movie is surely gonna work at Multiplexes.
Expected lifetime business : 70 crore.

Bol Bachchan starts well at the Box Office : Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan starer collected 13 crores on first day at Box Office

As expected it’s a great start for Bol Bachchan and the movie has an opening of around 60 to 70%, which is good considering the fact that it’s not a Khan or Kumar starrer. Although the experts has given mixed reviews to it but its a thumbs up from the audience side. Movie has got a bigger opening then Rohit Shetty’s last two Singham and Golmaal 3.

It has collected around 13 crore on first day which is really good, considering the fact that it was not holiday.

Reviews being positive and as per audience its a joyful ride and good return of money. Abhishek comic timing is loved by the masses and Ajay has done a good job as always. So, finally its a party time for junior bachchan as its gonna be his first hit after a long list of Bollywood disasters. Ajay can also take a sigh of relief after Rascals and Tezz fails to deliver at Box office.
Asin should be on the cloud 9 as she is the Queen of Bollywood 100 crore club, after Ghajini, Ready and Housefull 2.

Wants to Play in millions, Why not make a south remake: Almost 90% of the Bollywood’s 100 crore grosser are either a blind copy of the South Indian movies or have adopted the South Indian treatment. Be it Bodyguard, Singham, Ghajini, Ready, Rowdy Rathode, all these are blindly copied frame by frame. Majority of Indian movie viewers wants full of masala, full of action, senseless movies and south remakes provides enough serving for them.

Bollywood’s Report card from January 2012 to June 2012 : Box Office Report Card of first half of 2012

Well… Well…Well…. It’s the start of July 2012, and we are ready with the Bollywood Report Card… First half of 2012 has produced great results for Bollywood with three 100 crore blockbusters, more than 6 super-hits and many flops as usual , but overall it’s a far better first half than last two years. Success for low-budget and non commercial movies worked like icing on the cake with movies like Kahaani, Vicky Donor, Pan Singh Tomar, Gangs of Wasseypur, Ishaqzaade produced great results at the Box office. The year saw three 100+ crore blockbuster in the form of Agneepath, Rowdy Rathode and Housefull 2.

Small-budget films have done exceptionally well at the Box office. Ishaqzaade has collected around Rs 40 crore, Kahaani Rs 75 crore, Vicky Donor Rs 45 crore, Paan Singh Tomar Rs 20 crore, Gangs of Wasseypur Rs 20 crore and Farrari Ki Sawaari Rs 30 crore. Except ‘Ishaqzaade’, which was made at a budget of Rs 25 crore, the other three were made within Rs 10 crore. The total cost of ‘Kahaani’ was Rs 8 crore, ‘Vicky Donor’ Rs 5 crore, and ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ Rs 4.5 crore.

Flops have always been a part of Bollywood and this time there was no exception. Movies like Players, Agent Vinod, Teri Meri Kahaani, Dangerous Ishq falls at the Box office.

With 3 Khans coming in the next half of the year it seems like 2012 is gonna be a year with most number of 100+ crore grossers. Trade analysts have already predicted all these (Ek Tha Tiger, London Ishq, Talaash) to be a big blockbusters.

It was about the money. But what starts with money In Bollywood ends up on some other note say the chair of the numero uno! What else.

Starting off with the leading ladies, the race has turned from a duel to a multi-ended ring with each of the known names vying for a chunk of the magic figure.
Till last year, the only competition for a place at the top for Katrina Kaif was Kareena Kapoor. With both actresses delivering hits on a regular basis, the only differentiating factor between Kat and Bebo was the number of box office centuries that latter had scored. However with Asin boasting of three centuries and Vidya Balan too arriving with five hits in a row, it is about time that Katrina gets roaring again.
“Katrina has been doing quite well over the years but one thing she would be really longing for is a 100 crore grosser,” comments a
trade expert, “After all, that’s the barometer for any successful popular actress today.”

Coming to the men, the fight seems to be a bit more sober and underwhelming. However, the way the content has been in the 100 crore grossers, not much about the quality can be said, but yes while we talk of star power, the names are easy to list. He is surely vying another biggie in the form of Talaash while Dhoom 3 is quite at distant.

The reliable Khan Aamir has an enviable list of 2 huge grossers in Ghajini and 3 Idiots. However, of we talk of the tally, it is lead by Salman with 3 centurions in Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard. With Ek Tha Tiger round the corner, the buzz is already there and with Dabangg 2 at Christmas, the festivities won’t find time to take a break at the Khan’s it seems!

Well how could the King be left behind. He is closely following with his lesser celebrated hits in the 100 crore bracket Ra.One and Don 2. Well, he is surely on the prowl with the upcoming Yash Chopra venture at Diwali. So more crackers for our junta!

The least expected entrant to the club is Ajay Devgn, who finally tasted solo success after a long time with his masala action in Singham. Now again, Rohit and Ajay are around the corner with Bol Bachan. Let’s see if they can hit the mark yet again.

How do we forget the youngest entrant to the club? Rowdy going Housefull all over is the way to go for Akki Kumar as two back to back centuries have brought the Khiladi in the scheme of things yet again. Now, with some more action to follow in the coming days with Joker and Khiladi 786, expect anything but routine stuff as the case has been recently.
