Mirzapur Season 3: The third season of the highly anticipated Amazon Prime Video’s crime series Mirzapur will premiere in July 2024.

  • Amazon Prime Video renewed Mirzapur for season 3 soon after the premiere of the second season in Oct 2020.

The most anticipated Mirzapur season 2 arrived on Prime Video in October 2020. It picked up the story from the first season and continued the tale of bloody revenge. Like the previous installment, season 2 also ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving many questions behind. As expected, Amazon Prime Video renewed Mirzapur for the third season. As the fans await the upcoming season, we try to deduce what will happen next in the raw gritty crime drama series.

What will be the plot of Mirzapur 3?

Mirzapur season 2 was power-packed with twists and turns in its narrative. It ended on a huge cliffhanger, leaving behind a lot of questions unanswered. Fans are coming up with their theories. These are a few rumors and possible story/plot options for the forthcoming season of Mirzapur:

1) A large section of fans believe that Munna (Divyendu Sharma) is still alive and going to come back in the coming season.

2) Guddu (Ali Fazal) will be under heat as he becomes the new king of Mirzapur. Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) will come back with all guns blazing to regain power. Expect some out-of-box political tricks from his end.

3) Sharad Shukla (Anjum Sharma) will play a prominent role and we may see him as the new king of Mirzapur. He tries to fulfill his father’s legacy by taking over Mirzapur.

4) Beena will face heat when Kaleen gets to know that he was betrayed by his wife. Maqbool will be under fire for helping Beena and it would be interesting to see how he returns in the coming season.

5) Many believe that Chotte Tyagi is alive. He will play a big role in the third season. We may see Golu getting killed by him.

6) Some true fans of the show have the opinion that Robin’s true identity hasn’t been revealed yet. He will show his true colors in the coming season.

As you can see, there is a lot to explore in the upcoming season. Fazal told Filmfare in an interview: “Now, we have a bigger challenge – to outdo the last two seasons. I will get busy with other projects now, but we plan to shoot soon.”

Who is in the cast of Mirzapur Season 3?

Whoever survived the second season, will return for the third season. Ali Fazal will reprise his role of Guddu as he becomes the new king of Mirzapur. Joining him will be Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Golu Tripathi as she avenged the death of her sister (Sweety). Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya) will return as dethroned don Kaleen Bhaiya.

Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Priyanshu Painyuli as Robin, Anjum Sharma as Sharad Shukla will also make return. We can expect Guddu (Divyenndu) to return as the fans are demanding. Mirzapur Season 3 Filming Wrapped

In July 2021, producer Ritesh Sidhwani shared updates on the upcoming season. He said that Season 3 is in the scripting stage and the filming will start in 2022.

The filming for the third season started in June 2022. On Dec 4, 2022, Actor Ali Fazal took to Instagram and announced the wrap of his series. Fazal shared a couple of posts. While one is a video where the team can be heard screaming, “It’s a wrap,” the other is a selfie that the actor took with the cast and crew of the third season.

In an exclusive conversation in August 2023 with Bollywood Hungama, Shweta Tripathi said, “I feel very happy because Mirzapur 3 is in my past. Past in the sense that the shoot is over and it’s into post-production right now.”

Is there a trailer for Mirzapur Season 3?

There is no trailer or promotional material released yet. It is expected to be released a month before the premiere date.

Mirzapur Season 3 Release Date

Season one of Mirzapur arrived in November 2018 with all nine episodes dropped on the same day. While season 2 was expected to be released in 2019, it got delayed several times. It arrived on Oct 23, 2020.

Amazon Prime Video renewed Mirzapur for season three in November 2020 after it became the most-watched series on the streaming platform in India beating Breathe, Panchayat, and Inside Edge.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani said: “Across two gripping seasons, Mirzapur has become a global sensation and we couldn’t be happier associating with Amazon Prime Video to make this happen.

“The show’s massive fandom and the viewers’ magnitude of love towards the new season were seen through reactions on social media within days of its release, and we are truly humbled by the response.”

The filming for the third season wrapped up on Dec 4, 2022. Amazon Prime Video hasn’t announced the release date yet. However, per the latest reports, the much-awaited third season of Mirzapur will premiere on Prime Video in July. We are still awaiting official confirmation.

Amazon Prime recently announced the release date of the much-awaited Panchayat Season 3. So, it is expected that the streaming giant will soon announce the release of its upcoming crime thriller.

Panchayat Season 3 Release Date

The filming for the third season started on May 12, 2023. Amazon Prime Video dropped the first look of the third season on December 9, 2023.

There is a lot of excitement around the release of the third season. As per some reports, Panchayat Season 3 was expected to be released in the first week of March but that didn’t happen.

After months of anticipation, Amazon Prime Video has finally revealed the release date for the third season, much to the excitement of fans.

Panchayat Season 3 Plot 

In the first season, we saw the journey of an engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi who becomes the secretary of the Panchayat due to a lack of a better job option. The show focuses on Abhishek’s journey as he tries to adapt to village life. Meanwhile, for better employment opportunities, he prepares for the CAT exam.

The second season continues to focus on Abhishek’s life as he adapts to village life feeling more comfortable. He is seen taking more interest in village politics and developments. The new season also focuses on various problems faced by the people in villages. The second season ended on a major cliffhanger as Manju Devi and Rinki received a transfer order for Abhishek.

In an interview, writer Chandan Kumar did not reveal much about the plot but assured that the story would be seamless. “All the loose ends would be tied up. Also, the local politics was emerging last season with Bhushan coming up as an opposition. We will delve into that and also Abhishek and his tryst with government exams.”

The writers have several plot points to explore in the third season including the love angle between Abhishek and Rinki, Abhishek’s transfer, and MLA Chandra Kishore Singh’s tiff with Pradhan and Abhishek.

Shaitaan is a breathtaking work of art that enthralls viewers with its intense storytelling, haunting visuals, and flawless performances. Anurag Kashyap’s directing skill is evident as he tells a story of moral decadence and psychological turmoil.
