Speaking to Tudum about the renewal, creator, showrunner and executive producer Alexi Hawley said in a statement:
“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to “11” in Season Two.”
“I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we are thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I’m looking forward to seeing what Alexi Hawley has in store for us all,” said Noah Centineo, who will return as the show’s executive producer.
When Will The Recruit Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?
Fans of the show will have access to eight more episodes starring Centineo as C.I.A. lawyer Owen Hendricks as he attempts to distinguish between the two in the murky realm of espionage and truth.
On January 26, 2023, Netflix officially announced that The Recruit will return for a second season. Nevertheless, no release date for the show’s second season has been set as of yet, as the series has only recently been renewed.
However, reports on a few websites suggest that the second season would premiere in 2024. We still believe that the second season will release in December 2023.
What Will Be The Plot Of The Recruit Season 2?
It’s soothing to hear that the shocking season 1 cliffhanger won’t be left for fans. Instead, the narrative will go on in a second season, and we’re excited to see what will happen next.
Given that the Season 1 finale revealed the beginnings of a brand-new, wild story, it will be interesting to watch where Hawley and the team take the narrative going forward. There was absolute assurance that the second season would be eagerly anticipated by leaving fans with more questions than answers.
In the final episode of season one, titled ‘WTFIOH’ (AKA Who the F**k Is Owen Hendricks?), Owen watches Max gets shot by Karolina, a Russian woman who may or may not be Max’s daughter.
But who is Karolina, actually? Will Max survive the attack? The major twist in the first season’s conclusion—Karolina shooting Max—will likely be further explored in season 2.
Speaking recently to Collider, creator Alexi Hawley explored what to happen: “I know things about where I would want to take it, and where I’d want to go with it.
“I mean obviously, you hope for success, but as you could see with that ending, I didn’t plan for failure because I feel like in this day and age you just have to be bold, you have to be dramatic, to the expense of everything else.”
Hawley added: “And you can’t worry about season two, or season three, or beyond. You have to go, ‘What’s the best version of this story right now?’ And trust that people will come to it. And then you’ll get another shot at it.”
He explained to Variety: “You have to always try and make the most dramatic choice even if it’s hard, and even if it does leave you with a cliffhanger — even if it does turn the story 180 degrees. Yes, you can worry about what happens after, but at the same time, I think you have to be bold, especially in this day and age where there’s 9,000 shows.”
Who Is In The Cast for The Recruit Season 2?
Now that season two has been confirmed, we’re starting to get an idea of who will be returning. Secondly, given his enthusiasm for the upcoming second season, we can pretty well ensure that Noah Centineo will reprise his role as Owen Hendricks. Along with him, the remaining cast is as follows:

Centineo will return as Executive Producer and reprise his role as Owen Hendricks. Hawley will return as Showrunner with Hypnotic’s Doug Liman, Gene Klein, and David Bartis; Adam Ciralsky (P3 Media) and Charlie Ebersol are also returning as Executive Producers.
