Surprisingly, the showrunners have decided to omit the third book, The Reversal.

Alongside the announcement of season 2, it was announced that Dailyn Rodriguez, known for Queen of the South, would join the show as co-showrunner alongside Ted Humphrey (who was the sole showrunner for season 1).
Coming to the cast, Neve Campbell featured as a series regular in season 1 will be the “recurring guest star” in the second season. Ahead of the filming, Deadline reported that we will see two major additions to the cast in the coming season. They are:

- Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts, a former addict and client of Mickey, now working as his personal driver
- Angus Sampson as Cisco, Mickey’s friend and go-to investigator and Lorna’s fiancé
- Christopher Gorham as Trevor Elliott, a billionaire video game developer suspected of a double murder
