By the end of episode 8, titled Protect the Family, the situation reached a critical point with the Sun family, as Charles gets the order to kill his young brother, but he eventually decides to stand with his mother and Bruce.
Following the intense shootout, Bruce faces a confrontation with Big Sun. Despite Big Sun offering him the opportunity to betray their family and join the gang, Bruce remains loyal to his sibling. In a decisive move, he shoots Big Sun, though not fatally.
The episode concludes with Big Sun hospitalized, receiving a slow pump of insulin that may result in his demise due to an incorrect diabetic diagnosis. This leaves Eileen as the probable heir to the throne. Seizing the moment, she declares her decision to head to Taiwan and assume control of the family business.
The conclusion of the first season sees Charles and June teaming up with Eileen, setting the stage for whatever unfolds in season 2.
Additionally, there is a post-credits scene in the finale that introduces a new storyline for the upcoming season. The entire case against Big Sun hinges on the testimony of Frank Ma, a surviving triad leader. He will be kept in hiding before the trial against Big Sun. However, it appears that one of Big Sun’s associates, Yuan, is determined to locate him.
