Rebel Moon is an American epic space opera film directed by Zack Snyder. The science fiction action film is set in deep space and centers on a colony under threat from Regent Balisarius.
Sofia Boutella portrays a warrior assigned to recruiting allies to oppose the tyrant and his unstoppable forces bent on capturing territory. Breaking away from the traditional one-film story, Zack Snyder has decided to divide “Rebel Moon” into two separate parts. This division is the result of an effort to go farther into the complex plots and give the characters that live in this vast universe greater depth.

Rebel Moon Release Date
Rebel Moon will be available on Netflix on December 22, 2023, just in time for Christmas. The film will have a limited theatrical release on December 15, 2023. Along with it, it has been confirmed that there will be a part two which will most likely premiere on April 19, 2024.
The two-part Rebel Moon films will be renamed with more intriguing titles. While Rebel Moon Part I will be known as A Child of Fire, Rebel Moon Part II will be known as The Scargiver. Both films fall within the fantasy science-fiction genre.
Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire Plot
Rebel Moon is centered around a colony that is on the verge of going to war. Kora arrives as the last hope for the colony as a tyrannical force casts its menacing shadow. Kora’s mission turns into a race against time as she must assemble a varied collection of warriors to take on an evil enemy.
Here’s the official synopsis:
After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers. But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher) — leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.
Tasked with finding fighters who would risk their lives to defend the people of Veldt, Kora and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), a tenderhearted farmer naive in the realities of war, journey to different worlds in search of the Bloodaxes, and assemble a small band of warriors who share a common need for redemption along the way: Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Doona Bae), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. Duffy), a resistance fighter.
Back on Veldt, Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins), an ancient mechanized protector hiding in the wings, awakens with a new purpose. But the newly formed revolutionaries must learn to trust each other and fight as one before the armies of the Motherworld come to destroy them all.
