It is going to be an exciting week for cinema lovers as some most awaited movies are set to hit the big screen. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan will premiere on Sep 7, 2023. From the Hollywood side, we have the ninth instalment of The Conjuring franchise, The Nun II. Besides these theatrical releases, there is a lot to get excited about as far as OTT releases are concerned. Here’s a look at the list of exciting OTT releases of the week (Sep 4 to Sep 10, 2023).

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1989 animated film of the same name, itself loosely based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same title by Hans Christian Andersen. The movie follows Ariel, a mermaid princess and the youngest daughter of King Triton who aspires to explore the surface world. She falls in love with a human prince named Eric after saving him from drowning. She makes a dangerous deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to turn human for three days and confess her feelings to the man of her dreams.

Haddi

Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role, this crime drama revolves around a transgender man who moves to Delhi from UP to join a group of people like him. Soon, he enters the world of crime and becomes one of the most fierce gangsters. Things take a wrong turn when a gangster-turned-politician (played by Anurag Kashyap), kills the head of the group and Haddi decides to avenge her death.

What If

The movie follows a newly married musician couple who get stuck on an island during a storm while on their honeymoon. On the island, they face some tough truths that could break their marriage. It’s up to them to deal with the situation and work through it together.

Jailer

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer is the biggest OTT release of the week. The movie stars him as Muthuvel Pandian, a retired police officer who is forced to get back into the game after his son, ACP Arjun, is presumed dead in the field. Muthuvel learns that Arjun was investigating a gangster named Varman before he went missing. He uses his connections from his time in the force and dismantles Varman’s operations, only to be faced with a shocking truth about his son.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 3

Po (Jack Black) and the gang return to continue their search of finding the magical Tianshang Weapons before the evil weasel twins, Klaus and Veruca.

Top Boy Season 3

Set in the housing estates of east London, Top Boy focuses on the conflicts between drug cartels and those who want to live honest lives in the dangerous area. Season 3 will pick after the events of the second season as Sully takes charge of the drug cartel after pushing Dushane to cash out. With the new position, Sully will now have to face new challenges, threats, and consequences.

Virgin River Season 5 Part 1

The new season will see Mel adjusting to a different pace of life. Things are finally in place for her and Jack is also working to grow his business.

The Chageling

Based on the novel of the same name by Victor LaValle, the story follows a man in search of his wife. The woman goes missing after she does something horrible in the aftermath of the birth of their first child and now it is upon the man to find out where she is.

Selling The OC Season 2

The new season will follow twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim, who will take over the real estate business after Brett’s exit from the firm. The team at The Oppenheim Group will work religiously to make the biggest sales this season.
