Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is set to hit the big screens on Sep 7, 2023, and if advance booking reports are to be believed then it is set to become one of the biggest openers at the Indian box office.
Shah Rukh Khan made a huge comeback this year after a series of flops. The actor returned to the silver screens after three years and created a riot with Pathaan. Released on Jan 25, 2023, Pathaan broke almost every pre-existing record and now. Apart from registering the biggest opening for a Hindi movie, it went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time with a collection of Rs 520+ Crore.
Now, Shah Rukh’s next is set to raise the bar even higher. The advance booking has started as a storm is arriving at the box office on Sep 7, 2023. Now, one thing is sure: Pathaan’s opening day of Rs 57 Crore is set to be history.
Talking about advance booking, the Atlee directional has already sold more than 3.5 lakh (as of Sep 6, 2023, 9 a.m.) tickets at three major National multiplex chains for the first day.

With more than 3.5 lakh tickets already sold for the first day and a day still left for release, Jawan may beat Pathaan’s advance ticket record of 5.56 lakh tickets (Day 1 in the Top three multiplex chains).
When it comes to box office rankings, Jawan is poised to secure the second-highest ticket sales among national chains, with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan being the only film ahead. However, outside of national chains, Jawan is displaying stronger booking numbers compared to Pathaan. This, combined with elevated average ticket prices and the advantage of the Janmashtami holiday, sets the stage for a potential record-breaking opening. What remains to be seen is the magnitude by which it surpasses Pathaan to claim the title of the highest Hindi film opener. As of now, the record is held by Pathaan.
