OMG 2 to premiere on Netflix
Earlier it was reported that Akshay Kumar starrer will make its digital debut on JioCinema. It was reported in March 2023 that the film is slated for a direct-to-OTT release; however, it premiered in cinemas on August 11, 2023. However, a recent tweet from Netflix India’s official account has confirmed that the streamer has grabbed the streaming rights.

OMG 2 Release Date on Netflix
‘OMG 2’ will start streaming on Netflix from Sunday, October 8, 2023, onwards. “We’ve got great news for you, and OMG can you tell we’re 2 excited? #OMG2 arrives 8 October, on Netflix!” the streaming giant posted on its Netflix India page.

An uncut version of OMG 2 will be released on OTT
OMG 2 deals with the topic of sex education. It received an ‘A – Adults Only’ certificate from the censor board with 27 cuts.
In a new interview with PTI, director Amit Rai said that they were heartbroken with the A certificate. He stated that the movie will be available on OTT without any cuts.
In an interview with the news agency PTI, Amit said, “We were heartbroken because we made the film for everyone to watch, now that cannot happen. We begged them to give us a U/A certificate (children below 12 years of age can watch a film under parental guidance) but they didn’t. We tried to convince them till the very end… But then they walked some distance, we walked some distance. The film has been released with modifications…”
When asked if the OTT release of OMG 2 will be released without any cuts, Amit added, “We are happy people have loved the film. The intent of the film was pure. Nobody wanted to titillate the audience, hence they liked it. We have dealt with it (the story) in a way that doesn’t sound vulgar. We talk about the reality, but in a sweet and humorous way.”

OMG 2 Story
OMG 2 is the story of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva; a simple man, a loving father, and a caring husband. One day his son, is blamed for immoral conduct and is thrown out of school. Upon confrontation, Kanti realizes that his son has been a victim of misinformation and misguidance. Grief struck and unable to handle the crisis, Kanti decides to leave the town with his family, until he has a divine intervention that steers him towards the truth. Kanti then decides to take on everyone responsible by taking them to court.
