The show was coming to a natural conclusion, and Netflix and Mindy Kaling decided together that the show would end with season 4. In March 2022, while renewing the show for the fourth season, Netflix confirmed that it would be the final season.

At the time of the season 4 renewal, which was done ahead of season 3 premiering on Netflix, Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, called the ending “a little bittersweet,” adding, “just like high school, all great things must come to an end.”

What Happened In Never Have I Ever Season 4?

Devi endures some final-year senior-year mischief in Season 4. Along with choosing a college, Devi must also decide who she will date: will it be Ben Gross, a former competitor who has since fallen in love, Paxton Hall-Yoshida, or new bad boy Ethan?

Devi learns the hard way that she can’t treat people as if they are there to fulfil her desires. At one point, she dates Ben and Paxton simultaneously, hurting them both. Paxton is actually hit by a car, yet despite this, they remain close throughout the series.

In season 4, when Paxton and Devi accidentally trap themselves in a supply closet together and kiss. The flames between them seem to be rekindling. However, given that Devi is a student and Paxton is now a member of the faculty, they maintain their distance and end the show as friends.

The show creator Mindy Kaling is currently involved in the development of a new series for Netflix. While the show is currently untitled, Netflix emerged as the winner of the bidding war in 2021 to produce a comedy centred around the complexities of office politics within the LA Lakers organization.
