Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s coming-of-age dramedy Never Have I Ever is set to return for its third outing on Aug 12. Netflix announced the same on Sunday as part of the Netflix Is A Joke Fest. Netflix has already renewed the series for a fourth and final season which is expected to premiere sometime in 2023. Here’s everything you need to know about Never Have I Ever Season 3.

What the series is about? Never Have I Ever Season 3 plot & storyline

The series follows Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a 15-year-old Indian-American Tamil girl from Los Angeles. After a traumatic year following his father’s death, she tries to clean up her social status — but friends, family and feelings won’t make it easy on her.

The first two seasons followed Devi’s love life as she tries to date both Paxton and Ben at the same time as she juggled feelings for the both of them. Well, Ben breaks up with her and moves on with cool-girl Aneesa (Megan Suri). Devi and Paxton secretly rekindle their relationship after breaking up.

The second season ended with Devi informing Paxton that she no longer wanted to be his secret girlfriend and want their relationship to go public. At the same time, her former love interest Ben Gross learned that Devi had really been into him, but her friends had pushed her toward pursuing Paxton.

After learning how much Devi liked him, Ben will find it difficult to move ahead with Aneesa. After all, Ben isn’t excited that Devi and Paxton are together. Thus, he might have a difficult time with Aneesa in the upcoming season.

Ben has now two choices. The first is to pursue Devi and give up his new relationship with Aneesa. The other option is to try to make things work with Anees despite having feelings for Devi.

Devi and Paxton’s new relationship will be exciting to watch. However, it may also bring more drama than blissful happiness. So, we are heading for a Love Square in the third season and it is going to be complicated.

When will ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 3 premiere on Netflix?

The third season premieres on Netflix on Aug 12, 2022. The new season has 10 episodes like the previous two seasons. All episodes will be dropped at once on the premiere date. Here’s a look at the first look photos shared by the official Twitter account.

Who’s returning in Never Have I Ever Season 3?

The majority of the cast of Never Have I Ever season 2 return for the third season. Devi’s family will also play an important role going forward. Especially after her grandmother, Nirmala was introduced in season 2.

Lang Fisher, the co-creator, previously told ET that Nirmala, as well as the rest of Devi’s family, would play a crucial role going forward. She said, “She just brought this whole other dimension and kind of filled a little bit of the void that Mohan left. I’d like to see the new dynamics of her family now.”

Netflix announced in January 2022 that Anirudh Pisharody will be joining the cast of season 3. Pisharody will play Des, a teenage Indian-American who’s smart like Devi.
