Apple TV+ Leaks Loot Season 2 Premiere Date And New Plot Details!

Loot Season 2: The popular comedy series is coming back with another season. Here’s everything you need to know!

Loot, a comedy series created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard is currently streaming on Apple TV+. The show, which was released in June 2022, stunned fans by portraying a story about self-discovery, giving back, and making changes in one’s life regardless of age.

There has been a lot of buzz since the conclusion of the first season, and now that it has been a while, fans of the series are waiting for word about the second season renewal. Well, if you are one of them, you have come to the right place. Here’s everything you need to know about Loot Season 2!

Loot Season 2 Release Date

Loot Season 1 debuted on Apple TV+ nearly two years ago, and it’s only a matter of time before Season 2 hits our small screens. Loot received a second season renewal in July 2022. Filming for the second batch of episodes began in early 2023, but it soon hit a stumbling block due to dual strikes.

According to reports, production on Loot Season 2 was halted due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, which dominated the entertainment industry for much of 2023. However, now that it has been resolved, the good news has finally arrived.

The second season will begin streaming on April 3, 2024, with the first two episodes and new episodes will debut every Wednesday through May 29, 2024. Like the first season, there will be 10 episodes in the second season.

Loot Season 2 Plot

The plot revolves around Molly Novak, who discovers that her tech billionaire husband has an extramarital relationship with his younger assistant. She eventually divorces him and receives a $87 billion settlement. After spending the first few days in complete debauchery, she becomes involved with the charitable foundation she previously founded and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

In Season 2 we’ll see a less traumatized Molly as the series picks up one year after her highly-publicized divorce from tech billionaire John Novak (Adam Scott).

The issue for Molly is, that she’s been cutting away from relationships after the divorce. If she continues to suppress her emotions, it could have negative consequences, possibly even leading her to make impulsive choices such as giving away her entire fortune. This is why she relies on people like Sofia (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez) to help keep her grounded.

In an interview with The Wrap, Matt Hubbard, co-creator of “Loot,” discussed how Season 2 will address Molly’s recent decision and introduce unforeseen challenges for the affluent woman.

I think moving forward, you can’t just snap your fingers and give away $87 billion, especially if you want that money to be used correctly, and not just stolen from you. We’ve been fortunate enough to already receive an order for Season 2, and we will see renewed focus from Molly in the Wells Foundation, in giving away this money, but I think we’ll also discover how difficult that can be to do in the right way. And look, Molly is Molly, too. You get used to a certain way [of living]. She’s not gonna jump from a 500,000-square-foot house to a studio, right? Seeing that journey of, ‘OK, I gotta strip away some of that stuff’ — that will be hard for her. There’ll be some fun in that as well.
