The trailer features a voice-over, urging Dosanjh’s character to flee and leave the capital city for Punjab with his family. He, however, chooses to stay and fight alongside his loved ones.

The dialogue like – ‘Jinke hausle buland ho, unki himmat todna namumkin hota hai. Aisa hi hai sadda Jogi,’ (translated as, breaking the spirit of those powered with courage is impossible. That’s exactly how our Jogi is)

Jogi Movie Plot

A terrible and violent narrative from Indian history is brought to life on screen by Diljit Dosanjh. The film follows the inspiring journey of three friends and is based on the 1984 Delhi riots. The movie tells the narrative of how adversity frequently brings individuals from diverse backgrounds together and is built on the themes of optimism, brotherhood, and grit in the face of adversity. The film appears to be a terrifying drama based on real-life incidents.

Netflix summary of the movie reads:

“Amid tension in 1980s India, three friends of different faiths unite in a noble yet dangerous effort to save hundreds in their town.”

Talking about the movie, Diljit said, “It is very important for us to tell the story about the tragedy. Everyone should know about it, that’s why the film releasing on an OTT platform is necessary. Because the subject is not yet explored in the digital space yet.”

Director Ali Abbas Zafar said to ANI News, “Jogi is a very special film to me and who better than Diljit to helm the role of ‘Jogi’! It’s about hope, brotherhood, and courage in the times of adversity and is a story of how tough times very often unite different people.” He further stated, “I am extremely humbled that our story will reach millions of viewers not only in India but across the globe via Netflix.”
