Fire Country Season 2: Release Date, Plot & Everything We Know

Fire Country Season 2: The popular CBS action drama is coming back with another season. Here’s everything you need to know!

For years, the finest action TV shows have kept us on the edge of our seats, and the race to decide the best action TV shows is just as interesting. We’ve enjoyed everything from prison escapes to safeguarding the president, historical fights to superhero thrills. In a similar vein, we adore the action-packed drama Fire Country which debuted on CBS in 2022.

The protagonist of the play is a young prisoner, Bode Donovan, with a complicated past. To make amends and lessen his prison term, he joins the California Conservation Camp Program, where inmates help the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire. Bode finds himself back in his hometown where he was once a golden child who was expected to go far. He must work alongside former friends, other inmates and elite firefighters to put out the huge fires that plague the region. Meanwhile doing all this, he has to deal with his fall from dignity.

The show premiered on October 7, 2022. There’s a lot going on in Fire Country, and fans are eager to find out when the next season will premiere, as it has been already been renewed. While we are still enjoying the delight of receiving new episodes, we can’t help but crave more. Here’s everything you need to know about Fire Country Season 2.

When will Fire Country Season 2 Premiere?

CBS renewed the series for a second season on January 6, 2023. Season one of the series comprises 21 episodes, eighteen of which have been released. We feel the second season is far from being in production since the first season has yet to premiere its finale. Let alone predict the release date.

On the other hand, CBS has a habit of premiering new shows from mid-September to mid-October every fall season. The series of episodes runs with few breaks from October to March. Given the success of Fire Country’s first season, we can expect the show’s second season to premiere in Fall 2023 (most probably Oct 2023).

What Will Fire Country Season 2 Be About?

As the first season of “Fire Country” is currently on air and will conclude airing on May 12, 2023, it’s not yet known what the plot of the show’s second season will be about. However, the show has ongoing plotlines that will continue into Season 2.

In Season 2, Bode’s quest for atonement and a fresh start as a better man will undoubtedly take centre stage. His ongoing competition with Jake Crawford is likely to continue. Moreover, the love triangle between Bode, Gabriella Perez (Stephanie Arcila), and Jake will remain one of the focus points of the show.

And with every episode, you can count on the team to continue fighting for respect and deal with life-endangering blazes and explosions.

Vince Leone (Billy Burke), Bode’s fire chief father, will continue to fight his guilt over the death of Bode’s younger sister, Riley (Jade Pettyjohn), who passed away in a car accident. Bode’s mother Sharon (Diane Farr) will either get a kidney transplant, remain in stasis, or finally allow Vince to tell Bode that they’re a match.

Who will return in the cast of Fire Country Season 2?

While the official cast list hasn’t been announced, many season 1 cast members shared their joy at the show’s renewal.

Variety reported that Max Thieriot (Bode Leone/Donovan), Billy Burke (Vince Leone), Kevin Alejandro (Manny Perez), Diane Farr (Sharon Leone), Stephanie Arcila (Gabriella Perez), Jordan Calloway (Jake Crawford), and Jules Latimer ( Eve Edwards) will return for the second season.

In addition, Zach Tinker, who joined the cast in Season 1 as the amiable and modest Collin, is likely to remain on the show until an unexpected twist pushes him to leave.

The following stars are likely to continue popping up on the series on a recurring basis during Season 2:

  • Michael Trucco as Luke Leone, Vince’s brother
  • Jade Pettyjohn as Riley Leone, Vince and Sharon’s deceased daughter, Bode’s younger sister, Eve’s best friend
