Exciting news for all ‘Call the Midwife’ fans out there. PBS has announced the Season 11 premiere date of BBC period drama. The new season kick starts after the events of the traditional Christmas Special episode, which saw Lucille (Leonie Elliot) and Cyril’s (Zephryn Taitte) wedding go through a poor phase on Boxing Day. Season 11 debuted in the UK on BBC One on Jan 2, 2022. Now, the new season is all set to debut in the United States. Here’s everything we know about ‘Call the Midwife’ Season 11 including its premiere on PBS.

What Call the Midwife is about? What will happen in Season 11?

Call the Midwife is a period drama series about a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London in the late 1950s and 1960s. Debuted in 2012, the critically and commercially successful series is completing 10 glorious years.

The plot will once again follow the team of nurses, midwives of Nonnatus House, a London nursing convent. Set in the late 60s, Season 11 follows two main events, an Easter parade and the Eurovision song contest.

Meanwhile, we will also see Lucille and Cyril settle down after going through a rough patch in their wedding. The new season will also see Nancy (Megan Cusack) donning the red cardigan for the first time after passing the midwifery examinations. Season 11 will also disclose the aftermath of the shocking train accident we saw in the previous season.

Call the Midwife Season 11 premieres on March 20, 2022. There are a total of 8 episodes in the new season. A new episode will air every Sunday through May 8, 2022.

Following an eventful holiday special, the series picks up in the spring of 1967, where celebrations are underway for a colorful Easter bonnet parade outside Nonnatus House. Sister Monica Joan and Reggie are excited about the Eurovision song contest, while Cyril and Lucille settle into blissful married life. Nancy, having just passed her midwifery examinations, is about to don her red cardigan for the first time, and Sister Frances examines a newly married woman who presents some troubling symptoms. Derek and Audrey Fleming return to Poplar with good news. Builders demolishing a nearby tenement block make a shocking discovery that has a heartbreaking effect on the team.
