Aspirants Season 2: The second season of TVF’s superhit web drama series will soon release on Amazon Prime Video.
The first season of TVF’s coming-of-age drama series, Aspirants, based on the lives of UPSC students was a massive hit. It’s been more than two years since the finale of the first season arrived on YouTube but the characters are still fresh in the hearts of fans.
The first season of Aspirants concluded with the fifth episode on May 8, 2021. With the first season ending on a high with no loose ends, fans have been wondering if the show would return for its second season. Well, Aspirants is indeed returning for a new season and it has a new and bigger home now. Here’s everything we know about Aspirants Season 2.
TVF announces Aspirants Season 2
The first season of Aspirants ended on a high with no loose ends. All the questions raised in the initial episodes were answered in the final episode. All characters featured in the series have achieved what they were destined for. It reached its climax with a positive ending, sharing some true life lessons.
So, in terms of content and story, the creator didn’t have much left. However, the bumper success of the first season forced the creators to come up with more content. With an IMDb score of 9.2 out of 10 (300K+ votes), Aspirants definitely deserved a second season. Aspirants’ first season was such a massive hit that it gave way to two new character spinoffs titled SK Sir Ki Class and Sandeep Bhaiya. Aspirants is the number 1 show in the Indian OTT space. In terms of popularity, the first season reached new heights.
With such a huge fan support backing it, TVF had no option but to come up with a second season.
On Sunday, Oct 8, 2023, the official X (Twitter) account of TVF announced that the second season will be out soon. The poster released features Naveen Kasturia at work. Here’s a tweet.

Aspirants Season 2 Plot
TVF Aspirants is about the past and present of three friends, Abhilash, Guri and SK, who are UPSC aspirants. The past explains their UPSC Aspirant life in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi and their struggle to crack the examination, while the present examines their lives outside the Rajinder Nagar as adults. The second season will take their stories forward.
Created by The Viral Fever (TVF), the addictive drama series directed by Apoorv Singh Karki will follow the journey of its characters – Abhilash, Guri and Sandeep as they navigate life through love, career, ambition and dreams. The stakes will be much higher this time around.

Aspirants Season 2 Cast
All five lead characters that featured in the first season are set to return. Here’s a look:
- Naveen Kasturia as Abhilash Sharma – an IAS officer
- Shivankit Singh Parihar as Gurpreet “Guri” Singh, Dhairya’s husband
- Abhilash Thapliyal as Shwetketu “SK” Jha – a UPSC teacher
- Sunny Hinduja as Sandeep Singh Ohlan – a PSC officer
- Namita Dubey as Dhairya – Guri’s wife, Abhilash’s ex-girlfriend, a NGO worker
Apart from these five main characters, we are expecting to see some new characters as the story moves forward.
Opening up about his experience of shooting the second season, Sunny Hinduja who plays Sandeep Bhaiya said, “It’s been such a fun and memorable journey shooting for ‘Aspirants’ Season 2. The amount of love fans showered on me and the show in the first season was endearing”.
In the show, Hinduja’s character portrays the struggles of an average Indian student who’s trying hard to get through civil services.
He further said, “We have tried to make the second season more special which probably the viewers will enjoy watching. As a team, we can’t wait to bring the show out for the audiences”.
