Looks like Deepika Padukone has decided to make it to the top of the world. According to Forbes, Deepika Padukone becomes World’s 10th Highest Paid Actress. She even beat Priyanka Chopra to become the highest paid Bollywood actress.
The list of World’s top 10 highest paid actresses released by Forbes has Jennifer Lawrence at the top with total earnings of USD 46 million. Other ladies in the list are Julia Roberts, Amy Adams, Melissa McCarthy, Melissa McCarthy, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Aniston. With earnings of USD 10 million dollars, Deepika Padukone earns less than the other ladies in the list but she compensates with over a dozen lucrative endorsements. Forbes said Padukone has “scored box office gold” in Bollywood movies such as Bajirao Mastani and Piku.
Not just the highest paid actress of Bollywood, Deepika has also become a style icon in India. She had even launched her own label for an Indian online shopping site. Soon she will be making her Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra, the star of Quantico and Baywatch, surprisingly failed to make it to the list.
According to Forbes, “Though these select actresses earn more than most could dream of, their movie money is but a fraction of what many of their male counterparts pocket. While top actresses can negotiate eight figure upfront fees plus a cut of profits for leading parts in big budget movies, there are simply fewer of those roles available for women.”
