Tech movies are my absolute favorite. I mean who doesn’t want to see some cool machines, high-end technology, useful applications, and robots doing some crazy stuff. That is why sci-fi is one of the most popular genres in our film industry.

Although a majority of the films from this genre are good (or at least I enjoy watching them), some are far better than others. Movies with a good storyline, cool tech, and based on concepts that will either show you amazing possibilities or force you to question everything.

If you would like to know what those names are, here is a list of the 5 best tech movies of all time.

This list includes mind-bending movies such as The Matrix and names like Iron Man featuring amazing & cool gadgets including a flying suit.

You can download these movies from various websites or stream them online as long as you have a good internet connection. If you are living in a rural area and don’t know which internet connection would be good for streaming, try HughesNet internet. You will find it worthy of your time and money.

Now without further ado, let’s get to this list.

Ex-Machina

Ex-Machina is one of the most thought-provoking movies that investigates human kinds experiments with AI and how far should that be pursued. The movie follows a young programmer who is selected to be a part of a test that determines the capabilities of a new AI robot.

With an outstanding screenplay and just 4 characters, the movie takes you through ups and downs and finally warns us about the day when the robots would be indistinguishable from humans and the possibilities of what will happen.

Apart from that, the movie explores several other concepts that will fuel lofty debates. But they are for you to figure out once you have watched the whole movie.

The Pirates of the Silicon Valley

The Pirates of the Silicon Valley is a biographical film that depicts the lives of Steeve Jobs and Bill Gates. The movie begins around the early 1980s when Jobs set up his company “Apple Computers” and mainly revolves around the rivalry between their companies Apple and Microsoft.

Throughout the movie, you will get to see several personal aspects of Steeve Jobs’ life and the impact of the rivalry between Microsoft and apple on the development of personal computers.

If you are a tech lover and like to know how it all started, this movie is going to be a great watch for you.

Iron Man

Iron Man is originally a Marvel superhero movie but the tech showed in it is super amazing.

The first part of the Iron Man series was released in 2008 which revolved around a tech-billionaire Tony Stark and how he develops a suit to escape from terrorists. Later on, he uses the suit to save the world and fight bad guys.

But it is not just about the suit. You will get to see several robots helping Tony Stark in doing several things, cool technologies, AI interfaces, and gadgets that you would not have seen anywhere else.

As the movie progresses towards its sequels, you will get to see a huge improvement in everything from the technology of suits to robots.

The Matrix

Directed by Lilly and Lana Wachowski in the late 90s, this movie is one of the best sci-fi and tech movies of all time. It is about a dystopian future where humans are living in a computer simulation while the machines are farming their energy to survive.

A human hacker discovers this secret and starts his journey to defeat the AI machines and free humanity from this illusion. The sequels of this movie continue the battle between machines and humanity and show different aspects that will leave you speechless.

The film has an excellent cast including Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, Carrie Moss, and Joe Pantoliano. And the great news is that part 4 of this movie will be released by the end of this year.

I-Robot

I-Robot is another robotic movie that shows a future where robots are an essential part of every home and business and operate as assistants. But when a robot is investigated in a murder case, the idea of them turning on humans causes chaos.

Although the movie didn’t win any awards, the idea and concept of it are so close to reality.

Apart from that, I-Robot also shows some cool gadgets, amazing cars, and outstanding action scenes among robots and humans. Though it might have become very common for you to see this concept, you would enjoy the storyline and brilliant acting from Will Smith.

Summing Up

If you have watched these movies and loved them, here are some other names that are absolutely amazing but couldn’t make it to this list. These names include Wall-E, Minority Report, Tron-Legacy, Her, and The Martian.
