After successfully running for over a year, Comedy Nights Bachao will go off-air from February 2017. The comedy show that saw the hit duo Krishna Abhishek and Bharti Singh entertain its audience with bone tickling jokes, will return after three months of going off-air.

“Yes, the show will wind up around February, but we’ll return with another show three months later. It is doing extremely well and we have shot with almost 400 actors but it has reached its saturation point so we thought of concluding it on a high” confirms the host, Krishna.

Confirming the return of the show after three months of going off-air, co-host Bharti Singh revealed, “The format of the show will be changed and the show will be revamped because celebrities are not liking the roast format.”

The comedy show had been under the scanner for mercilessly roasting many high-profile celebs. It all started with actress Tannishtha Chatterjee staging a walkout after being addressed as `kaali kalooti’ on the show and asked if she had been eating blackberries which caused the “kala mooh“. Much recently, it was hunky actor John Abraham objecting to the show-runners taking digs at his acting potential when he showed up to promote ‘Force 2’ with co-stars Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin.

When Krishna was asked if the show is going off-air because of the controversies, he replied in the negative. He said, “Not at all, but, at the same time, we don’t want to ruin our relationship with people in the industry. However, I do wish to clarify that John didn’t walk out. He had completed the episode which was even aired later.“

Getting deeper into details, Krishna adds, “We are shooting an episode with OK Jaanu actors Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur on Saturday and later we will be doing an integration with Bigg Boss for two episodes. In January we might shoot an episode with Shah Rukh Khan too for Raees. But it’s true that we will be taking a break. We will change the concept and then come back with a revamped format” he said.
