Abhishek Bachchan is on cloud nice as his team Jaipur Pink Panthers won the inaugural season of Pro-Kabaddi League. Bachchan’s team won against Ronnie Screwvala-owned franchise U Mumba, with scores 35-24 in the final of the eight-city franchise based Pro Kabaddi League finale, which took place on Aug 31.
A source reveals, “Abhishek is extremely happy with the victory, so Sunday, he decided to throw a party for the players in Jaipur,” said the source and also added that the party will start after the press conference.”
Abhishek also feels that the success of Pro-Kabaddi League is beyond imagination and that he is very happy that the game has reached so many people. He says, “The success this league received was beyond imagination and we are holding the second addition in coming March but as of now there is no need to increase the number of teams in the league.”
Junior Bachchan also revealed that there won’t be addition of more teams to the league, but there are chances of launching a Women’s team. “We have a three year contract with the franchises and we want to give them time to settle down. Increasing the number from existing eight is not possible at least for three years and it might be possible when the next auction takes place. However, work is also going on for looking the possibilities of launching a women’s Pro league too.”
Abhishek even congratulated the team players for their hard work at the event. Says Abhi, “The Pro Kabaddi league was the second most viewed event and Kabaddi-kabaddi has reached far corners of the world.” He continued, “I was in Rome recently and met old friend English Footballer Ashley Coles. He surprised me by calling me Kabaddi-Kabaddi. He too was aware that Pro Kabaddi has arrived on international sports scene.”
