XO, Kitty is a romantic comedy-drama series that premiered on Netflix on May 18, 2023. Created by the talented Jenny Han, the mastermind behind beloved stories like ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,’ the show has captured the hearts of viewers with its unique blend of romance, laughter, and feline charm.

The protagonist of the show is Kitty Song Covey, who considers herself to be an expert in love and relocates to South Korea in an effort to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae. But she discovers that when your personal sentiments of love are in jeopardy, a relationship becomes far more complicated. The first received positive reviews from critics.

As fans eagerly anticipate season 2, expectations are running high for more heartwarming moments, unexpected twists, and, of course, the undeniable chemistry. If you are here to satisfy that curiosity, you have come to the right place. Here’s everything you need to know about Xo, Kitty Season 2.

Netflix renewed Xo, Kitty for a second season

It’s no secret that Netflix has been very delighted to cancel shows recently, with Lockwood and Co. being the most recent to do so. That’s the reason some fans were worried about the future of Xo, Kitty.

However, the show has an advantage in that it’s a spin-off series from To All the Boys I Loved Before, a film series that Netflix permitted to continue until the third instalment. Well, fans have no need to worry as Netflix has renewed the series for a second season. The announcement was made on June 14, 2023, almost a month after the show debuted on the streamer.

Xo, Kitty Season 2 Release Date

Netflix announced the series in March 2021. It took more than two years for the creators to deliver the first season. If the series follows the same schedule, we would get the second season in 2025. However, it’s far too early to make any predictions regarding the release date, given the streamer has only recently announced it. Also, note that the 2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike is still ongoing.

Xo, Kitty Season 1 Recap

There was plenty of drama in the first season of the show. When Kitty originally entered KISS, she had her heart set on Dae, but she unintentionally fell in love with Yuri despite the two of them being at odds for most of the season. After an amicable separation from her first love, Kitty mustered the confidence to open up to the social media influencer at the airport.

Yuri’s love interest Juliana came just as Kitty was about to confess, though, and the opportunity was gone. Kitty hurried off to catch her ticket home to the US, and it’s possible that she won’t be returning to study in Seoul.

Xo, Kitty Season 2 Plot

In the season finale, Kitty was kicked out of the school for violating the terms of her scholarship after Principal Lim learned that she had been residing in the boys’ hostel. Even though after a hard start to the semester, she had passed. However, Kitty should be reinstated because Yuri urged her mother to reverse the expulsion in a prior scene.

Therefore, we would anticipate Kitty to return to South Korea for another semester if season 2 is approved. Although it is unknown how her love life would develop. In addition to Yuri, who she would consider dating, Kitty also has Dae’s best buddy Min Ho, who confesses his feelings to her.
