Partner Track: Will there be Season 2?

Netflix has not officially renewed Partner Track for season two. Well, it is understandable since the streaming service takes around a month to analyze the viewership number and demand for the next season.

Though there is nothing official yet, there are strong rumors that the show would return for the second season,

On August 27, in conversation with Deadline, Jinny Howe, Netflix’s head of drama, noted that “executives are high on Partner Track, and the series is looking good for a season 2 renewal.”

Partner Track isn’t listed as a limited series on the streamer which is good news. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Georgia Lee revealed, “We don’t even have a green light for season two yet,”

How well the first season of Partner Track was received?

The first season of the show received rather mixed reviews from viewers and critics. On the critical front, San Francisco Chronicle called the show the “perfect background noise” wherein Chicago Tribune’s Nina Metz mentioned it to be “engrossing enough to keep you watching.”

On the reviews aggregator website, Rottentomatoes, the first season has an average score of 56% from 9 reviews. The audience score on the site is a mere 54%. On IMDb, the first season has a score of 6.8/10 from 2.8k votes. So, we can easily say that Partner Track is not a very popular show.

Well, the reviews are certainly favorable. It all boils down to the viewership numbers and the demand for the next season. We need to wait and watch.

How many episodes will be there in Partner Track Season 2?

The first season of the series had ten episodes. We can expect another ten episodes if the show gets renewed for the second season.

Partner Track Season 2 Cast

Other than Arden Cho who plays the role of Ingrid, we are expecting the following cast to pop up on our screens for the second season:

  • Dominic Sherwood as Jeff Murphy
  • Alexandra Turshen as Rachel Friedman
  • Bradley Gibson as Tyler Robinson
  • Nolan Gerard Funk as Dan Fallon
  • Matthew Rauch as Marty Adler
  • Desmond Chiam as Zi-Xin ‘Z’ Min

Other than the recurring and minor characters who could feature, we can expect to see some new faces, too. But we might not see Rob Heaps return as Nick Laren after his relationship with Ingrid crashed and burned.

Partner Track Season 2 Plot

The first season of The Partner Track ended with a bummer for Ingrid as she failed in her mission to get a partner at Parsons Valentine & Hunt, which was ultimately thwarted by Jeff Murphy. In the first season, she has an off-and-on relationship with Murphy.

In conversation with Deadline, Georgia Lee, the creator of the show, stated that there were some major things to be covered in Partner Track Season 2. While Ingrid and Murphy’s relationship cannot be saved anymore. She further added, “I would like to say that Ingrid chooses not Team Murphy or Team Nick or Team Z, she chooses herself. That’s her ultimate journey.”  Not only that, but she also hinted that there could be more of the Rachel-Tyler-Ingrid trio.

There is no trailer for The Partner Track yet, but you can keep on checking in for more updates!
