“There’s 15 or 16 main characters in the show, but there are 180 people on that flight. And aside from those 180, there are all the people whose lives have been touched by that,” he said, adding: “There’s lots of stories left to tell here.”
Though the first season used most of the source material available, Katims said how he envisioned the series beyond its source material and found the perfect lead, as well as his hopes for Season 2.

What will be the plot of Dear Edward Season 2?
The cliffhanger from Season 1’s finale, when Edward gets a letter from a stranger claiming to be his uncle, looks like an ideal storyline for Season 2. There is no doubt that leaving that trace out suggests that there are still more tales to be told. Therefore, when fans began asking for Dear Edward Season 2, it was clear that the series’ viewers had a great deal of affection for it and the show will be back with season 2.
