Carnival Row Season 3: Is It Happening?

Carnival Row Season 3: Is it happening?

Carnival Row Season 3: There will be no more episodes of Carnival Row as the show has been officially canceled. Here’s everything you need to know!

Carnival Row is an exciting Victorian fantasy crime thriller written by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham, based on Travis Beacham’s unproduced film spec script, A Killing on Carnival Row. The protagonist of this sci-fi and fantasy series is a police detective tasked with investigating the horrific killings of fairies in a mysterious city. To clear his name and identify the true murderer, he must make every effort.

The show has two seasons, the first of which was released on Amazon Prime Video on August 30, 2019, and the second of which premiered on February 17, 2023. Now that it has been nearly a year since the second season concluded, fans are eagerly awaiting news about the next season.

What do you believe the future holds for this show? Will we be fortunate enough to see one more season, or will it be canceled before season 3? If you’re wondering the same thing, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s what you should know about Carnival Row Season 3.

Carnival Row Season 3 Release Date

Following the release of season 1, creators Travis Beacham and Marc Guggenheim were confident about their plan for at least four seasons of Carnival Row (via Collider), but alas, that plan has been canceled or abandoned for the time being

We have some disappointing news for fans of the fantasy series. Before the second season’s release in February 2023, Amazon Prime Video made the announcement that the show would not receive a renewal. This indicates that Carnival Row Season 3 will not be created and that the show has come to an end after only two seasons.

It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly why Carnival Row didn’t get the renewal it deserved. Some people think that the first season’s poor performance might have contributed while some think that the effect of the pandemic on production might have played a role. Whatever the reason, it’s disheartening to see such a unique and promising series end abruptly.

Carnival Row Season 3 Plot If It Gets Renewed in the Future

The last episodes of Carnival Row wrapped up the story on an emotional note. It unveils the destiny of Rycroft Philostrate (played by Orlando Bloom) and his ex-lover Vignette (played by Cara Delevingne).

Series star Orlando Bloom said that he was very happy with the ending settled on by the new showrunner Oleson, who inherited a lot of complex storylines to wrap up.

“[He] really executed the show in a way that I’m really proud of,” added Bloom. “And I think that it’ll stand the test of time. It’s something that I’m really glad I got to do, and I’m sad to see it gone.”

Carnival Row fans appear to have appreciated the second season’s attempt to shed light on the distinction between ordinary humans and supernatural beings. We believe that by emphasizing the Burgue more, the show expanded the storytelling’s scope. Perhaps you have seen it as well. Regretfully, there won’t be a new season.

However, if the creators decide to renew it for a third season in the future, we can expect more exploration of Ragusa, the Pact, and The New Dawn. Furthermore, there is room to explore the early history of the fae. A few chosen characters, such as Darius and Sophie, might also be crucial to the third season’s plot. For the time being, however, we are left guessing that Carnival Row will not return to Amazon Prime Video.

Where to watch Carnival Row?
