What is Berlin About?

Berlin, whose real name is Andrés de Fonollosa, is one of the key members of the heist crew led by the enigmatic mastermind known as “The Professor.” Known for his charm, intelligence, and ruthless nature, Berlin quickly became a fan favorite, despite his morally ambiguous actions. His complex personality and tragic backstory have left viewers wanting more.

The series has been filmed in Spain and Madrid and will follow the life of master thief Berlin, who died unexpectedly in Money Heist’s second season. The story will take place before the events of the Money Heist.

The past of Berlin was somewhat addressed in Season 5 of the main series, but there is still a lot we don’t know about this beloved character. He does have five ex-wives, as we learned. We also look forward to seeing how his bond with his brother, The Professor, progresses.

Set during the peak of his glory days, the Money Heist spin-off series follows Berlin as he gathers a skilled group of people in Paris to carry out a heist worth 44 million euros worth of jewels in one night. The series delves deeper into Berlin’s past as well as his life before the events of Money Heist.

Berlin’s official synopsis reads:

“During his glory days, Berlin and a gang assembled in Paris for one of his greatest plans ever: stealing 44 million euros’ worth of jewels in one night.”
