Taali starring Sushmita Sen covers the major events of the life and struggle of Mumbai-based transgender activist Gauri Sawant. Gauri Sawant founded the Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust in 2000. It helps transgender people with HIV/AIDS and provides them with counselling.

Who is the cast of Taali?
The series is written by Kshitij Patwardhan, Kartik D. Nishandar, and Arjun Singh Baren and is directed by Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav. It is created by Arjun Singh Baren.
Shreegauri Sawant, played by Sushmita Sen, is the series’ title character. This engaging drama series also stars Shaan Kakkar, Suvrat Joshi, Ankur Bhatia and Bobby Kumar. Moreover, over 300 transgender people will reportedly appear in the series, which is a record-breaking number.
