Made in Heaven debuted on Amazon Prime Video on March 8, 2019. The show depicts modern India as a blend of the old and the new, where tradition and contemporary aspirations clash. The series revolves around the lives of Tara and Karan, two wedding planners in Delhi running an agency named Made in Heaven. The show showcased the many sides of relationships and marriage through the eyes of two wedding planners.
Following the success of the first season, the series was quickly renewed for the second season. Work on the second season was to begin in April 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After several delays, filming for the show’s second season was wrapped in April 2022.

Four years after the release of season one, Made in Heaven will finally be back on our screens with a new season.
Season 2 of the must-awaited drama series is set to drop on Aug 10, 2023, on Amazon Prime Video. Making the announcement, actress Sobhita Dhulipala and the rest of the cast shared the official season two poster.
Dhulipala shared the post with the caption, “Making it official, finally! Team Made In Heaven is ready to enter the shaadi business again.”
Mathur promises “It’s twice as heavy on the drama, the scale, the cast, the grandeur and everything else you might want from it.”
What will be the plot of Made in Heaven Season 2?
The nine-episode first season focused on the work and personal lives of the lead characters Tara and Karan, played by Dhulipala and Mathur, who run a high-end wedding agency in Delhi. Themes of extra-marital affairs, same-sex relationships, deceiving for money and ingrained sexism are explored throughout the season.
Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur reprise their roles as Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra. They are faced with the task of adapting to their new circumstances and dealing with the consequences of the previous season’s events, both in their personal and professional lives.
In the latest season, new characters portrayed by Vijay Raaz and Mona Singh are introduced. Vijay Raaz’s character serves as a reminder to Tara and Karan that their business is not generating profits, while Mona Singh portrays a bold auditor. As the season unfolds, tensions escalate as Tara and Karan find themselves in heated debates about the company’s future, all the while grappling with their own personal struggles. Karan faces pressure from his mother to marry, keeping his true identity as a gay man hidden. On the other hand, Tara navigates the aftermath of her breakup with Jim Sarbh’s character from the previous season.
In an official statement released by creators Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the duo hopes that the newest season will get the same amount of love the show got for its first season. “Made in Heaven reflects the lives of upscale modern India and is narrated through the eyes of two wedding planners, set against the backdrop of quintessential Indian weddings and recurring social prejudices. Our hope is that the latest one is received with as much love as the last,” they said.
Prime Video’s official synopsis for the new season reads: “Financial challenges, a depleted client roster, and a crumbling bungalow for an office forces wedding planners Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra to adapt to a new uncomfortable status quo. With repercussions being felt in their personal lives as well, the pair continue to deliver fairy-tale weddings. But beneath the glitz and glamour of Delhi weddings lie prejudices that are as deep-rooted as its traditions.”
