There is some bad news for fans. The new season is going on a big break. Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 will return after a hiatus of three months. The next episode titled “I’ll Follow the Sun”, will air on Thursday, Feb 23, 2023. It will air at its usual time slot at 9 pm (ET) on ABC.
There are a total of 22 episodes in the new season as reported by Deadline. The count is more than the previous season which had 22 episodes.

Episode 7 of Grey’s Anatomy Season 19, titled “I’ll Follow the Sun” is written by Krista Vernoff. It will mark the beginning of a new chapter as Ellen Pompeo will take a leave of absence. The actress who has been an integral part of the series for years agreed to appear in eight episodes of the new season. She is expected to be off-screen until the season finale, set to air in Spring 2023.
ABC recently released the promo of the next episode. In the clip, you can see Meredith prepares for her last day before undertaking a new journey in Boston. In the previous episodes, Meredith decided that leaving Seattle behind was the best move she could make for her family.
