As predicted by us, Avengers: Endgame is off to a bumper opening at the Indian box office. As per early reports, the movie recorded around 90% opening on its first day. This is the best opening for a movie released in India in the current decade. In terms of occupancy, the opening would be bigger than all Bollywood biggies like Thugs of Hindostan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Sanju.

If advance booking and buzz is to go by then it is wreaking havoc at the Indian box office. The movie is released on 2845 screens across the country. The buzz around the film can be judged by the fact that it is screening round-the-clock in metro cities.

In India, Avengers: Endgame sold over 25 lakh tickets in advance, thus setting a new record for highest pre-release ticket sales for a Hollywood film in India. It is also the first film ever to cross the two-million mark on BookMyShow in advance ticket sales.

Avengers: Endgame has collected 70 crores in advance booking for the opening weekend which is an all-time record beating Baahubali 2 and Thugs of Hindustan.

Talking about film’s craze in India, “The cinemas are doing everything possible to match fans’ demand for the film, including round-the-clock screenings and also opening up advance bookings for the entire week ahead,” Ashish Saksena of BookMyShow, said in a statement earlier.

Avengers: Endgame 1st day collection in India is 53.15 crores. It is now the highest opening day Hollywood grosser in India beating Avengers: Infinity War which earned 31.3 crores.
