Dilwale 9th Day Collection: SRK and Kajol starer Dilwale had a poor 2nd Saturday with the collection of 7 crores.

This was pretty much on the cards after a poor performance on second Friday. The struggle for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale continues as it further dipped on its second Saturday. It was all going great for Dilwale till the first week as the movie raked in more than 100 crores.

The real problem starts from second Friday when the movie fell flat despite a big Christmas Holiday. After a poor 8th day with the collection of 8.11 crores, SRK starer Dilwale further dropped on its 9th day. As per early reports, Dilwale 9th day collection is only 7.5 crores. With 7.5 crores on second Saturday, Dilwale now stands at the total collection of 118.26 crores.

Dilwale is performing best in West Bengal and North-East. In other regions, Dilwale has hugely clashed with Bajirao Mastani. There is a big drop in screen count this week as the reviews were not good and Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars Awaken released this week. Star Wars is performing well in metros and multiplexes, giving a tough fight to Dilwale.

Dilwale Box Office Collection

Dilwale 1st Day Collection: 21 crores (3rd highest of 2015)
Dilwale 1st weekend collection: 65.09 crores (3rd Highest of 2015)
Dilwale 1st Week Collection: 102.65 crores (3rd Highest of 2015)
Dilwale 8th Day Collection: 8.11 crores
Dilwale 9th Day Collection: 6 crores
Dilwale Total Collection: 116.76 crores

With 118.26 crores, Dilwale is the 4th highest grosser of 2015 only behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320.5 crores), PRDP (208 crores) and TWMR (152 crores). Dilwale is Shahrukh Khan’s 6th consecutive 100 crore grosser. The movie is Varun Dhawan’s second 100 crore grosser after ABCD 2.

Considering the poor performance on second Friday and Saturday, we expect Dilwale to continue its struggle in coming days. The movie needs to have a strong second Sunday to collect 150 crores by its second week. Dilwale will surely fall short of 200 crores, a figure achieved by SRK’s last two release Chennai Express (227 crores) and Happy New Year (203 crores).
