Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus Padmaavat was finally released yesterday amidst massive fear and protest. Rajput Karn Sena is still in no mood to leave the film. It is only because of their protest that the film hasn’t been released in four big states including  Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Despite this massive protest, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s fillm has emerged as true winner on the first day. As per the reports coming, Padmaavat first day collection is around 20 crores. This is an incredible number for a movie which is running on around 3000 screens. The numbers are impressive since there is a lot of tension and uncertainly in the mind of the audience.

Padmaavat recorded around 60% occupancy on the first day which is in the same range as Tiger Zinda Hai. The opening is better than last year big films Raees, Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

With the collection of 20 crores, Padmaavat becomes the highest opening day grosser of Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. With this kind of opening, we can expect the movie to put big numbers in the coming days. It will take full advantage of Republic day holiday today.
