After an impressive first weekend with the collection of 33.17 crores, Jagga Jasoos was expected to remain stable at the box office. But that didn’t happen and the movie saw a huge drop on Monday. Since then it is continuously falling with each passing day. Jagga Jasoos has completed one week and we can say that the numbers are not impressive.
Jagga Jasoos First Week Collection: Day-Wise Report
The movie had a decent at the box office with the opening day collection of 8.57 crores. It saw good growth on weekend, earning 11.53 crores, 13.07 crores on Saturday and Sunday.The real problem started on Monday when the movie saw a huge drop of 55% and managed to earn only 4.05 crores. It continues to drop on weekdays and earned 3.48 crores, 3.05 crores on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
As per the reports coming, the movie has dropped further on Thursday. As per early estimates, Jagga Jassoos will earn around 2.75 crores on Thursday. With the collection of 2.75 crores, Jagga Jasoos first week collection will be around 46.5 crores.
Jagga Jasoos First Week Collection: Comparison With Other Movies Of 2017
In comparison to other movies of 2017, the first week numbers of Jagga Jasoos stands at 8th position. It even fails to beat the first week collection of Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor Half Girlfriend (49.3 crores). However, it manages to beat the first week collection of movies like MOM, Hindi Medium, Phillauri and Naam Shabana. (Read: Highest opening week grossers of 2017)
Jagga Jasoos Budget and Box Office Verdict
The total budget of Jagga Jasoos is around 120 crores including the promotion and advertising cost. The movie needs to cross 120 crores to be a safe bet for the producers and distributors. There will be a huge crunch in screen count as Tiger Shroff’s Munna Michael and two other movies are releasing tomorrow.
Jagga Jasoos can best cross 65 crores mark. Despite good pre-release recovery, the makers have to incur huge losses. Disney India, the distributors of the movie are expected to lose around 50 crores. Jagga Jasoos is a good film but it is not in accordance to the sensibilities of the Indian audience. May be Bollywood don’t deserve a movie like Jagga Jasoos.
