2014 hasn’t been a year of Box Office records so far in contrary to 2013 which saw Box Office records shattered all the way. First four months of 2014 saw only one 100 crore grosser with Jai Ho whereas in 2013 we had nine 100 crore grosser of which 3 has even crossed 200 crores at Box Office. We saw Dhoom 3 and Chennai Express nearly made 100 crores in first weekend but 2014 so far has witnessed a struggling first weekend collections for every release. Kick, Jai Ho,Singham Returns, Bang Bang and Ek Villain  has managed to cross 50 crores in its first weekend.

Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year is the highest opening weekend grosser of all time. The movie collected 108.86 crores. Aamir Khan’s PK is the second highest Opening weekend Grosser of 2014 with collection of 92.77 crores. Salman Khan’s Kick follows next with first weekend collection of 83.5 crores. Kick is followed by Bang Bang with first weekend Box Office collections of around 76 crores. At no. 6 we have Salman Khan’s Jai Ho with opening weekend collection of 58.5 crores. At no. 5, we have Siddharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor starer Ek Villain with first weekend Box Office collection of around 50.7 crores. Ek Villain is closely followed by Yash Raj films action thriller Gunday with first weekend Box Office collection of 43.9 crores and Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha starer Holiday with first weekend Box Office collection of 40.3 crores.
