Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter was released in theatres on January 25, a day before the Republic Day holiday. As predicted, the film is off to a decent start, way behind the blockbuster opening of last year’s releases like Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, and Gadar 2.
According to Taran Adarsh, Fighter collected Rs 24.6 Crore on its opening day. It recorded an occupancy of around 25% on its opening day, which is low considering the names associated with it. Well, the advances of Fighter never took off as the film sold around 2.79 lakh tickets for the first day, summing up to Rs 8.4 crore in India.
Since Fighter was released on a regular workday, its box office earnings might have been affected. However, the film has garnered incredible reviews from critics. With positive word-of-mouth spreading, it is anticipated to do significantly better on its second day, particularly since it coincides with the Republic Day holiday.
According to Sacnilk, Fighter has already secured advance ticket sales amounting to Rs 13.2 crore for the second day (Republic Day).

With Rs 24.6 Crore coming on day 1, Fighter is now the 4th highest opening day grosser for Hrithik Roshan. WAR (2019) is Hrithik’s biggest opening day grosser with a collection of Rs 53.35 crore. The other big openers of Hrithik Roshan’s career are Bang Bang (Rs 27.54 Crore), Krrish 3 (Rs 25.5 Crore), and Agneepath (Rs 23 Crore).
The opening day collection of Fighter is higher than Hrithik’s last two releases, Vikram Vedha (Rs 10.58 Crore) and Super 30 (Rs 11.83 Crore).
