Shahid Kapoor’s romantic-drama film ‘Kabir Singh’ has crossed 200 crore mark at the domestic box office, becomes the first ‘A’ rated Bollywood film to achieve this feat.
Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ is on a dream run at the box office since the day of its release. Released on 21 June 2019, the film has now crossed 200 crore mark on the 13th day of its release. It collected around 8 crores on its 13th day to take its total collection to around 207 crores.
It is first solo 200 crores grosser for Shahid Kapoor. More interestingly, it is the film ‘A’ rated Bollywood film to achieve this feat. Grand Masti is the only other ‘A’ rated Bollywood movie to cross 100 crore mark in India.
Talking about this year, Shahid Kapoor starrer is the third film to enter 200 crore club after Bharat (211 crores) and Uri – The Surgical Strike (245+ crores)
Backed by the superb public response, Kabir Singh has emerged as one of the biggest hits of all time. It is the 19th Bollywood movie to cross 200 crore mark in India. The film has witnessed superb trend so far. It is still going strong and may enter 300 crore club.
It’s been a dream box office journey for Kabir Singh. Released with a high pre-release buzz, the movie got off to an incredible opening and earned 20.21 crores on the first day. It witnessed superb growth and collected 70.71 crores in the opening weekend.
Kabir Singh remained rock-solid on weekdays and managed to earn 134.42 crores in the first week. After a huge opening week, the film has performed well in the second week. Despite competition from WC matches, Kabir Singh has so far collected around 73 crores in the second week with still a day to go.
In the third week, it will beat the lifetime collection of Uri – The Surgical Strike (245+ crores) to become the top Bollywood grosser of 2019.
Directed by Sandeep Vanga, Kabir Singh is an official remake of 2017 Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy.
