Kabir Singh beats Kesari and Total Dhamaal, becomes 3rd highest grosser of 2019

Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ crosses 160 crore mark, beats lifetime collection of Kesari and Total Dhamaal to become 3rd highest grosser of 2019.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Kabir Singh’ is unstoppable at the domestic box office. After a huge opening week with the collection of 134+ crores, the film is rewriting box office history in the second week. It started the second week on a strong note and collected 12.21 crores on its second Friday.

Now, on its second Saturday, it witnessed huge growth and earned 17.10 crores to take its total collection to 163.73 crores. It is the second fastest 150 crore grosser of 2019 after Salman Khan’s Bharat.

With the collection of 163.73 crores, Kabir Singh is now the third highest grosser of the year after Bharat (211 crores) and Uri – The Surgical Strike (245 crores). It will take the first position very soon.

Kabir Singh has exceeded expectations. Trade experts were not even sure of it crossing 100 crores. The film has earned around 165 crores in just 9 days.

With the current trend, Kabir Singh can go anywhere from here. While 250 crore is definitely on cards, it would be interesting to see if it can still make it to the 300 crore club of Bollywood.

The biggest challenge for the film is the competition from the world cup matches. Even today, the film may face a drop because there is a big match between India and England.

From the coming Friday, Kabir Singh also has to compete with Spiderman: Far From Home. This week, it is getting good competition from Ayushmann Khurrana’s Article 15 and Annabelle Comes Home.
