As expected and suggested by advance bookings, Shah Rukh Khan’s new release, Jawan, is off to a bumper opening at the Indian box office. Despite being a working day, the Atlee directional is off to a flying start across the country. As per early reports coming, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is set to re-write box office history.

Jawan recorded the second-highest advances for a Hindi movie beating biggies like Pathaan, KGF 2 and WAR.

Final Advances in terms of tickets sold at national multiplexes PVR, Inox and Cinepolis (For Day 1)

For the first day, the collections were almost Rs 29 crore nett through advance booking i.e. before a show commenced. For Pathaan which collected Rs 57 Crore, the first-day advance was around Rs 26.75 crore nett.

According to the trade expert Taran Adarsh, Jawan collected Rs 29.95 Crore (Nett) from the top 3 national multiplex chains.

These numbers are out of this world as it is now almost certain that Jawan will be the highest opening-day grosser Hindi movie, beating Pathaan, KGF 2, WAR and Thugs of Hindostan.

As predicted by us, Jawan earned around Rs 75 Crore (nett) on its first day for all languages. The movie collected around Rs 65 Crore in Hindi and Rs 5 Crore each from Tamil and Telugu versions. It is the highest opener Hindi at the Indian box office and the seventh highest overall.

Moreover, the reviews are extremely positive from viewers and critics. It seems that Jawan will be one of the biggest Bollywood hits of all time. If the movie manages to earn Rs 250 Crore in the first weekend the sky will be the limit. Jawan may open a new Rs 600 Crore club in Bollywood.
