First weekend Box Office Report – Day wise comparison of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani.
Two most awaited movies of the year, Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were released on 18 Dec 2015. The expectations were sky high as both of them created tremendous buzz before their release. Dilwale marks the reunion of SRK-Kajol iconic pair on the big screen after a long gap of six years while Bajirao Mastani was in the news because it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most ambitious project till date. As expected, Dilwale won the battle on the first day beating Bajirao Mastani by a huge margin of 8 crores. But, the tables started to turn from the second day as Bajirao Mastani makes a strong comeback collection 15.5 crores on 2nd day in comparison to Dilwale which collected 20 crores. On the third day of the weekend, Bajirao Mastani comes out even harder and collected 18.45 crores while Dilwale collected 24 crores.

Clearly, Dilwale is ahead of Bajirao Mastani as far as the first weekend Box Office report is concerned but the signs are not good for Dilwale as the WOM and reviews are mixed. Despite its clash with Bajirao Mastani, Dilwale was expected to cross 75 crores in its first weekend but that didn’t happen. Bajirao Mastani is getting stronger with each passing day and we can expect it to beat Dilwale in the coming days.
