Bajrangi Bhaijaan vs Dilwale vs Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Which movie will be the biggest hit of 2015?
As evident as it was in the starting of 2015, there is still no denying that either Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dilwale, or Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will be the highest box office churner and the greatest hit of 2015. SRK and Salman are the biggest Bollywood superstars, and they have delivered the biggest hits of Bollywood in the past. Salman Khan is in top form as his last eight releases have been big hits at Box Office. Same goes right for SRK whose last two releases Happy New Year and Chennai Express made 200+ crores at domestic Box Office. There have been lots of talk about the Box Office collection of these movies. Bollywood lovers and fans are interested to know the Box Office fate and the verdict of these films. Let us try to analyze the Box Office verdict and figures of these movies.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the best movies of Salman Khan. The film worked at Box Office because of substantial content, superb performances and, of course, Salman Khan. The film was expected to do well at Box Office, but it amasses all expectations and emerges as second 300 crore grosser of Bollywood after PK. Bajrangi Bhaijaan stands at a lifetime collection of 320.5 crores.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was released on Diwali. Since, Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan reunited after a long gap of 15 years, and the expectations were sky high. They have delivered some of the biggest hits like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aaapke Hai Koun, etc, and with PRDP they delivered a mixed response flick. PRDP was loved by Salman fans but failed to win hearts in general. PRDP has a lifetime collection of 208 crores in India while another 100 crores from overseas. The total worldwide gross collection of the movie is 406 crores.
Dilwale
Dilwale is releasing on 18 Dec 2015 along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Rohit Shetty and SRK are reuniting after the super success of Chennai Express, so the expectations from the movie are enormous.
Advantages with Dilwale
1) Evergreen Jodi of SRK-Kajol
2) Rohit Shetty is a hit machine. He has a superb record when it comes to making commercially successful movies.
3) Christmas holiday season.
Disadvantages with Dilwale
1) Competition with Bajirao Mastani: Bajirao Mastani in itself is a big project and will certainly eat up lots of screens as it is scheduled for same day release.
2) The content of the movie needs to be good if it has to make it to the blockbusters list. Something like Happy New Year will no be tolerated at all.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan vs Dilwale vs Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Lifetime Collection
Bajrangi Bhaijaan has already created history with a collection of 320 crores at domestic Box Office. Moreover, the movie is the second highest worldwide grosser of all time with a collection of 626 crores. It would be a daunting task for Dilwale make it even close to Bajrangi Bhaijaan. We just saw Prem Ratan Dhan Payo fail terribly in this war and could not even come close to what Bajrangi Bhaijaan has collected at domestic BO. Dilwale seems to have an advantage over PRDP since it has the mass appeal that will make it a big hit at the domestic Box Office.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan Lifetime Collection: 320 Crores (Domestic) + 193.3 Crores (Overseas) = 513.3 Crores , Total worldwide gross: 626 crores
Prem Ratan Dhan Lifetime Collection: 210 Crores (Domestic) + 66 Crores (Overseas) = 270 Crores , Total worldwide gross: 406 crores
Dilwale Lifetime Collection Prediction (Expected): 220 Crores (Domestic) + 120 Crores (Overseas) = 340 Crores , Total worldwide gross: 450 crores
