The movie has exceeded all expectations and recorded a fantastic opening weekend at the domestic box office. Trade experts had no expectations from the movie as it is not a typical Bollywood feature film. All trade prediction have failed as the movie performed exceptionally well not only in India but in overseas as well. After a superb opening with the collection of 8.4 crores, the movie witnessed good growth over the first weekend. It performed superbly well on Saturday and Sunday. Sachin Tendulkar’s magic has once again gripped the nation. After winning our hearts on the cricket field, the man is now giving us goosebumps in the movie theaters. The movie witnessed a subsequent growth of 10% on Saturday and Sunday.
As per early estimates, Sachin A Billion Dreams 3rd day collection will be around 10.4 crores. The first weekend collection of the movie stands at 28 crores. A 28 crores opening weekend is an exceptional total considering that the film is not a regular Bollywood affair. It is a docu-drama and perhaps Sachin Tendulkar factor has worked in the favour of the movie.

With the collection of 28 crores, Sachin A Billion Dreams is now the 7th highest opening weekend grosser of 2017. It has beaten the first weekend collection of movies like Rangoon, Naam Shabana, Ok Jaanu etc.
The movie has performed exceptionally well especially in high-end metros and multiplexes like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Pune etc. It has exceeded all expectations and it seems that Sachin Tendulkar factor has worked wonders for this docu-drama. It remains to be seen if Sachin Tendulkar’s magic continues to work on weekdays as well.
