With Rustom, Akshay Kumar is all set to achieve a Box Office record, no other Bollywood actor would be able to break in near future. Find out.
Akshay Kumar’s Rustom is one of the most awaited movies of the year. Slated for release on 12 Aug 2016 along with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro, Rustom is Akshay Kumar’s third release in 2016. His previous releases, Airlift and Housefull 3 turned out to be superhits at Box Office with the collection of 100+ crores.
With Rustom releasing on 12 August 2016, Akshay Kumar is all set to create a Box Office record which even the Khans of Bollywood have failed to achieve. Akshay Kumar might just create a history if his upcoming movie Rustom enters the 100 crores club of Bollywood.
While the 100 crores hattrick is not a big deal in Bollywood. Salman Khan, SRK, Ranbir and Hrithik have achieved this feat. The real deal is the hattrick of 100 crores grossers in a single year. Yes, if Rustom enters the 100 crores club then Akshay Kumar will become the first Bollywood actor to deliver three 100 crores grosser in a single year.
A hattrick of 100 crores grossers in a single year is something even the Khans of Bollywood can’t achieve as they don’t pull more than two movies in a year. Expecting this record to be broken by any other young actor would be an uphill task. So, if Rustom manages to cross 100 crores then this record will be held by Akshay Kumar for a long time.
Considering the hype and buzz Rustom has created, it seems a cakewalk for it to cross 100 crores at the Box Office. In fact, Rustom seems to have an edge over Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro which is also releasing on the same day. (Poll: Rustom Vs Mohenjo Daro: Which movie will win the Box Office race)
A hattrick of 100 crores grossers in a single year is not an easy feat. Only Deepika Padukone managed to achieve it with four back to back 100 crores grossers in 2013. Deepika Padukone’s Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela crossed 100 crores.
